Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We had a great week this week. Daniel had no school which was awesome! I worked Monday and Tuesday and then we played the rest of the week! Last week we pulled out a new toy for Lyza. She has had so much fun with it.
Getting into the cupboards and loving it!
The morning of Thanksgiving Daniel was brave and accompanied me on one of my extreme couponing trips. We got to Walgreens as soon as it opened and loaded up the shopping cart with all of this:
Everything cost us about $31 and we saved $205! I love couponing :) My parents arrived later that day. Here we are looking through all of the flyers in preparation for some Black Friday shopping!
Lyza enjoyed some dill pickles with her turkey dinner.
Happy belated birthday Mom! It was my first attempt at making a baked cheesecake and it turned out pretty good!

Lyza has gained a lot of confidence in her walking. She is doing a lot more of it and seems to go a little further everyday. What a big girl!
 Giving morning kisses to Grandpa.
Playing on the tablet with Grandma.
On Saturday we drove out to Lewiston to do some more shopping. We went out to eat at Macullen's for dinner and then went to Lights in the Park. It is a free light show that they put on every year.

There was a stationary train in the park, decorated with lights, that you were allowed to sit in and ring the bell.

Lyza LOVED looking at all of the lights. She also enjoyed dancing to the Christmas music they had playing.

We have put up our Christmas decorations, done almost all of our Christmas shopping and are getting excited to see the rest of our family in just a few weeks!

Nov. 18/2012

I feel like it has been a really busy month and am looking forward to this week. Daniel doesn't have school and my parents are coming on Thursday for Thanksgiving and of course Black Friday :) School has been really busy for Daniel and I think we are all looking forward to this semester being over. This week he found out that he is on a moot court team that will be going to New York in March! He is really excited about that. I have been working 3 days a week. I really like the people I work with but I sure miss this little smiling face.....
One of Lyza's favorite activities is to empty whatever she can find. On this particular day it was her dresser. Lately though she has also started enjoying putting everything back in. It is usually not put back in the way she found it, but at least it isn't left all over the floor! Towards the end of Relief Society today Lyza started going around the floor, picking up all of her toys and putting them all back in the diaper bag. She then proceeded to go over to another lady's diaper bag and put away all of her baby's toys as well.....such a good helper! She didn't forget to grab the lady's check book either on her way back to me :)
Here is a picture of Daniel working the apple sauce maker when we canned apple sauce last week.
Lyza thought the apple sauce was delicious!
One of Lyza's favorite "toys" is the lids off of our pots. She grabs one out of the cupboard and then crawls all over the house with it. It looks like she is curling. The only problem is when I go to make supper and can't find any of my lids!
I baby sat my friends daughter this week. Lyza had so much fun with her. She loved playing with her and every time Quinn would start to walk away Lyza would cry.
Yesterday morning we woke up to a beautiful rainbow. I couldn't quite get the whole thing in the picture but you could see it from one end to the other. The only thing I couldn't see was the pot of gold!
Lyza looked so cute in her dress today we took a couple quick pictures when we got home from church.

Happy American Thanksgiving to our Canadian families!

Dancin' Lyza - Extended Cut

Due to the popularity of the video we posted on Facebook we thought we would post an extended edition here to showcase a few more of Lyza's moves.
We absolutely love having Lyza and her happy and energetic little character in our home.
She is truly a blessing to us! Enjoy.

Happy Halloween!!!!

We had a GREAT Halloween! Last weekend we got dressed up and went to a Halloween party that our friends hosted. Lyza was adorable in her cupcake costume and Daniel and I dressed up as Johnny Lingo and Mahana.
We had a lot of fun at the party. Lyza thought the ghost decoration hanging from the ceiling was so much fun to play with.

We had lots of good food to eat and played some fun games like Rock Band.
Halloween day I got Lyza dressed up in her costume and took her outside to get some pictures of her. It was a little tricky getting pictures of her because she was too busy looking at everything that was around her.

Instead of eating candy for Halloween Lyza just enjoyed some rocks she found.

 Peek - A - Boo!
In the afternoon we joined Daniel at the law school for some trick or treating and activities.

We entered Lyza in a costume contest and she won in the 0-2 year old category. Here is Daniel and Lyza going up to accept their prize. Lyza won a gift certificate and a chocloate bar. She was gracious enough to share them with us.

Other than Halloween festivities we have been having some fun at home. Lyza always loves it when she gets to play with water.
 Catching bubbles!

More bubbles
On Friday we went out to the organic orchards to pick some apples. Unfortunately when we got there we weren't allowed to pick because they were stripping the orchard. Instead they had some fruit that was already picked that we bought. We got some delicious pears and apples. This weekend we cut up some of the fruit and froze it for baking and the rest we made into apple sauce.
Tomorrow I have my first day of work. I will be working 2.5 days this week. I am excited to get back in the hospital and do an ultrasound but nervous about leaving Lyza. Luckily we have an excellent baby sitter who will take very good care of her!

Here is a video of Lyza this afternoon. Lyza loves to dance! This is a sample of her latest moves.
