Month of Love

February is a fun month at our house. We start it off by celebrating Daniel's birthday and then we get to enjoy Valentine's Day and our Anniversary! Despite our lives being very busy lately, we have been able to squeeze in a little fun.
On Daniel's birthday, Lyza and I went to the school while he was in class, decorated his desk, put out some munchies and surprised him once he finished his class. It was a lot of fun to surprise him at school. Here is a picture of Lyza brushing her teeth before we left the house.
Here we are at school. Daniel just opened a gift from a friend which was a shirt from "The Big Bang Theory". Lyza thinks it is SOOO pretty!
 Opening more gifts.
2nd round of gifts at home :)
I had taken cake balls to school earlier in the day so that night we celebrated with banana splits instead.
Lyza doesn't like to feel like she is missing out on anything so whenever we are in the bathroom this is usually what she is doing on the other side of the door. From our perspective inside the bathroom we usually just see little fingers reaching in from under the door.
For the last few weeks Lyza has taken a liking to sleeping with her "baby" aka teddy bear. She looks so cute as she cuddles with it while she sleeps.
 Playing with Daniel's birthday balloon.
All ready to go to bed :)
We gave her some jello the other night and it was obviously a hit!
 Just being a goof!
For a few days this week Lyza's favorite toys were her Noah's Ark magnet set and the lettuce spinner. She played with these things for most of the day.
Eating heart shaped biscuits on Valentine's Day
We celebrated Valentine's Day at our house by eating heart shaped calzones and strawberry spinach salad. After dinner we even spoiled ourselves with some delicious crepes!
The weather was much nicer this week and one day Lyza and I even got to enjoy some time at the park. I can't wait until it warms up a little more and we can go more often.

The swing was not Lyza's favorite activity.
Having a lazy Saturday morning in our pj's reading some books.
Yesterday was our 5th Anniversary! Here we are all ready to go out on our date!
We went to Pullman and ate at Swilley's which was delicious! While we were out Lyza stayed at a family's home from our ward and had a ton of fun playing with their 3 girls.
 Bedtime stories.
The traditional 5th anniversary gift is wood so I made this wooden plaque to hang in our room. Daniel surprised me with a beautiful silver necklace, which is the modern 5th anniversary gift.
The past few weeks Lyza has been learning some of her animal sounds. Here is a video we took last week testing  her on some of her animals.

Milk Drunk

I took this video in the morning after Lyza had finished off a BIG sippy cup of milk. I think she may of had a little bit too much to drink. It started off with some harmless hiccups which led to dancing, staggering and falling all over the floor. I got a kick out of her performance and thought you might all enjoy it too. Towards the end of the video Lyza will demonstrate her amazing ability to "give" .....even if she is giving you nothing....it's the thought that counts :) Sit back and enjoy!

February 3, 2013

Daniel and I have both had a busy/crazy week so I don't have anything very fun to fill you in on. Lyza on the other hand always has something fun to share.
The other morning after I got Lyza out of bed the first thing she wanted to do was go to the kitchen, open up as many cupboards as she could and start emptying them.
This is where she decided to gather all of the big bowls.
Playing peek-a-boo with her bedroom door.
 Sporting her new backpack!
She had a great time the other day playing with cornstarch and water. It sure made a mess but at least she had fun!
Painting a picture with water and ice cubes.
 Playing with the flannel board.
It was so cute yesterday as Lyza sat in the tub and read me her bath time book. She had a lot of things to tell me about bath time!
The other day I gave Lyza a muffin tin filled with different types of dried beans and pasta. For 45 minutes straight she moved them from one cup to the next and then would stir them with the longer fettuccine noodles. I think she will like to help in the kitchen when she is a little older.
We are quickly realizing that kids develop attitude while they are young....Lyza is already giving us a little taste of her own attitude. You will see in the video that it doesn't matter what we ask her she always gives us the same response....No! I think we are in trouble with this little girl!
