Happy Easter!

For family home evening this week we had a lesson about the resurrection. We started by making resurrection rolls. You wrap a crescent roll around a marshmallow, bake it, and when it is all done the marshmallow has disappeared. Get it?

They were really yummy! I forgot to mention earlier there was cinnamon sugar inside and on the outside :)
Then we had a lesson where the kids got to open up Easter eggs with scriptures and objects that relate to the resurrection story
This little guy can be frustrating. He loves to take his clothes off, but insists on wearing shoes in the house and loves to wear his jacket. So this is what we get...
Sometimes she really loves books. It would be nice if she would put her book away before she got the next one out. Oh well, she could be doing worse things than making a mess reading
She learned about the letter K this week
She and her brother love to play with the green slime/flubber

I don't ever get to go to the library with them, but this is how I imagine it goes all of the time... ;)
Our ward had a service day yesterday and our family had a lot of fun helping out. At one house we worked on cutting up and splitting a huge tree that blew down in the windstorm

This family lives on a five acre lot with lots of fun things for little kids to do
They have a huge water feature made out of a natural rock on their property. The kids liked climbing up on the big rock

They also have chickens

The kids got to help collect the eggs

After the kids learned how to collect real eggs from a stinky chicken coop, they did an urban Easter egg hunt

After Nixon's nap the kids found a suprise in the back yard

Today Lyza got to wear her new Easter dress to church
She and Nixon looked cute together

The Easter bunny even came while we were at church
 Watch out ladies!

We have had a great Sabbath day so far and we're looking forward to yummy Easter dinner. Take care,

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My least favorite activity this past week was taking the dishwasher apart to figure out why it wasn't working. I never did figure it out, but after putting it back together is has been working fine. I think it was a loose connection somewhere.
Dairy Queen had a free ice cream day that we took advantage of

 I like this sight
This little boy gets the craziest laugh sometimes. Super deep and throaty.

For breakfast on St. Patrick's Day Kim made the kids green waffles
The kids had some fun with their shadows that morning
Kim made the kids green slime to play with. Lyza played for hours

Here is Lyza's digging for bugs dance
Kim made some shamrock bread for dinner to go with our avocado soup
This guy decided the shoe rack doubles as a bench for putting on his shoes
Nixon eating the cone of an ice cream cone is really silly. The cone gets really soggy and he just sucks the ice cream out of it
Here is a cute video of Lyza's song that teaches her how to do her buttons
I spent all day in the back yard yesterday. Of course I had good company
I spent the morning replacing this A-frame part of our play structure with new pressure treated wood
Meanwhile Kim and Lyza were doing some projects in the house. Lyza is learning how to use the Silhouette
In the afternoon during Nixon's nap I started building a sandbox for the kids' Easter gift. I had good help digging down the ground. As I was building Lyza kept saying "this looks like a sandbox. I hope some day we can have a sandbox."

Next Saturday I will finish the cover and we'll fill it up with sand
This little guy is always falls asleep with his face pushed up against the crib. He must like feeling secure.
25 weeks. Baby Keyes is really active.
Take care.
