Moose on the Loose

Kim and I went out for a dinner date last weekend. Good company, mediocre food...
When a blog post gets finished, this is usually the crowd around the computer
Last Sunday Kim had a meeting before church and left me alone to get the kids all dressed and to church. We all made it, and we were all wearing church clothes. Although Nixon's pants might have been backward. Oh well..."the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearancebut the Lord
looketh on the heart."
We got a bag of used clothes last week and Nixon was in heaven. He loved this outfit
He even had to wear his sandals the next day
Mason got this sucker for some reason and was loving it
Mason also LOVES to watch animal videos on the TV
We constantly have to tell the kids to calm down because fun easily turns into someone getting hurt. Here is some proof
Mason usually has a really fun and silly period of time right before bed. This night we had fun watching him run and scaring him
Mason is getting in to everything! He climbs on EVERYTHING! He is a menace

I can't believe how he pulls himself up
He needs a little practice jumping though
When I pulled out the tomato plants and left the cages outside I never thought this is what the kids would do with them
The kids were mesmerized with the dryer exhaust. They were trying to trap it with this lid. Lyza even said it was more fun than watching TV!
Kim found Mason happily playing with stickers one afternoon all by himself
She comes home from school with the cutest things
Lyza's asthma got really out of control and she and Kim had to go to urgent care to get it worked out. She wasn't having fun!
After a late night she had a 7 o'clock eye appointment
She had lots of fun trying on glasses
This boy loves his jam sandwiches
On Saturday morning Kim and Lyza went on a date to look at glasses

Meanwhile the boys were out walking and bike riding
Lyza and Kim went to the bakery as part of their date
Then they went to the library
We had a moose sighting yesterday. He started out across the street from us
Mason (and the other kids) were pretty excited
Then he came across the street and started eating our "ugly bush"
After that Lyza and Nixon trained for the bobsled event in the 2026 winter olympics
Nixon decided these dots would make him have super powers
We saw the moose again this morning. It was across the street again so I went out and took a selfie with him
Then I decided to get even closer (Kim was not very happy about that)
Then when I came back home the moose was lonely and decided to come join us

He got super close to our window
Nixon and Lyza had a cute exchange about moose beards
While Kim was commenting on how red Mason's hair looks I got some good snuggles and kisses from him

We had a wild weekend and hope your's was good too
Take care

Please don't come back snow

Mason was pretty attached to his Halloween bucket. He had to carry it around all the time even after we took the candy out of it
Kim is happy that Halloween is over because she doesn't have to walk by this house anymore to and from the bus stop
Mason got a bath time photo shoot

This is Lyza drawing Nixon with all of his details. She had him sit still while she drew him

Lyza made this crown at school while they were learning about the letter N
She went to be with all of these stickers on. It was a funny site to check on her before bed and see her passed out with a sticker on her forehead
Mason loves these fish at the doctor's office

Nixon got a shot at the doctor's office. This is the conversation that he and Lyza had after
Mason is becoming quite the climber. Nothing is safe anymore
The kids have enjoyed the little bit of snow that we had
The annual moose sightings have begun

I took the big kids on a date last Saturday to Home Depot to made Hummers/Humvees as a Veterans Day activity
They had a lot of fun. When it was over Lyza told me "Dad, I didn't think this was going to be a fun date, but it was a lot of fun." She made sure to tell the cashier the same thing.
Getting Mason all ready for the snow is a chore right now

Winter is pretty, but still not my favorite
Mason was so sick last Sunday that I brought him home after sacrament meeting and he fell asleep IN MY ARMS!
Lyza has also been under the weather, but talking to Grandma helps make it better
 Mason loved this activity
 So did Nixon
This evening Lyza's homework assignment was to disguise the turkey. Of course she turned it into a dinosaur ;)
The next best thing to giving Mason some medicine when he is sick is to let him play with the bottle (with supervision of course)
We cleaned the church yesterday and the kids did their best to clean the glass (I am not sure if it made the task easier or harder for Kim)

Our snow is gone (hopefully for good...) so that meant catching up on winterizing the yard. Mason, Nixon and I got the trampoline taken down, apple trees trimmed, some raking done, and the Christmas lights hung on the house (neither of them helped with hanging the lights)
Kim and I can't understand how someone can jump to sleep, but Mason does it all the time
Lyza has been practicing doing hand stands
She has also been teaching Nixon, which is entertaining
We hope you have a great week. Take care
