Still sick....

Just when I felt like Lyza was starting to get over her cold she got hand foot virus. Our poor girl! Luckily it hasn't spread to her mouth because that makes eating very difficult. It is so contagious that she can't be around other children, so we have been couped up all week.
My friend just gave me these photos she had taken at Harvest Fest the other week and some of them turned out pretty good.

Me and my girl

Our little pumpkin checking out the pumpkins.

We normally have a few things blocking the DVD shelves but I moved them the other day and Lyza was thrilled that she got to "reorganize" our DVDs.
This week Lyza turned 10 months! We took her monthly picture on her blanket with her teddy bear. It is always a little tricky to get these shots because Lyza does not like laying on her back. This makes diaper changes VERY interesting.

It started getting cold this week. We have been having to turn on the heaters and scraped the car windows for the first time today. I am not ready for winter but am glad we had such a great summer and fall. Lyza is all bundled up to go outside.
Saturday morning the three of us went on a date to the Breakfast Club. Lyza loved sitting in the high chair and was such a good girl.
Lyza is thinking, If I look at the camera and smile Mom won't even notice that I am swiping her menu!

This is NOT what I ordered!!!
Breakfast was amazing. Daniel got "The Platter" which has a bit of everything  and I got pumpkin french toast! We will definitely be visiting The Breakfast Club again. After breakfast we walked around the farmer's marker for a little while but didn't last too long because it was so cold and windy!
Because Lyza still has her rash I stayed home from church with her. The sun finally came out today and she liked looking out the window.
This past week Lyza has been doing this funny thing where all of a sudden she stops what she is doing and practices her downward dog move. I guess she has been watching me do my yoga....haha.
She liked playing with her car/walker a lot today. She pushed it all over the room.
She even got really brave and did a little walking with her toy. What a big girl!

Our Week

Last weekend while Daniel was at the Priesthood session of General Conference I was going through some of Lyza's drawers and found a pair of sleepers that I use to wear when I was a baby. I had forgotten all about them and was glad I came across them when I did because they were almost too small for her. It was pretty fun dressing Lyza up and of course I had to take some pictures because she looked just too cute! Here is a picture of Lyza at 10 months and me when I was 6 months old wearing the same sleepers.
I wanted to try to get a picture of Lyza sitting just the way I was in the picture of me wearing the sleepers but I should of known that Lyza would never sit still long enough for that! haha. She has other plans and those plans included books!
Yes, this girl sure loves her books.
One of our favorites: "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"
About a month ago I went to a class our Relief Society had on couponing. I had tried to get into it once before after I had Lyza but life was just too busy. After I went to this class I made a goal to learn how to effectively coupon. My plan is to coupon for this year and stockpile enough stuff to get us through the rest of law school. That will help keep the loans down during that last year and save on trips to the store. There has definitely been a learning curve to extreme couponing but I feel like I am getting better every week. This is what I picked up at Rite Aid this week:
Regular Retail Price: 68.93      What I paid: 13.07
I was pretty excited when the total came up on the cash register. I even scored myself some Halloween glow in the dark nail polish and new eye shadow! I don't remember the last time I got new eye shadow. Hopefully I can keep this krazy couponing up!

Here is Lyza playing with her car.
Daniel was very busy this week working on a big Appellate Brief that was due Friday which meant this little girl and I had a lot of play time together! We were very happy once he finished and to celebrate we are staying home all weekend sick! We just got over a cold not too long ago and are going through it all over again....ugh. Hopefully it will pass quickly!
Sometimes when Lyza eats her cheerios they end up stuck to her face.
AND what I am most excited about (drum roll please) Lyza's 1st pedicure! YEA!!!!! Aren't those little piggies the cutest thing you ever saw? I have been wanting to do this for a long time but just never got around to it. Glad I got it done while it is still warm enough that she doesn't always have to have socks on.

Fall Festivities

We have had a really great week down here! I feel like I have so much to be thankful for in my life! This past week I went for an interview and got a job at Gritman Medical Hospital. I will be working an evening shift every Monday and will be on call some nights and weekends. I am just waiting to have all of the paperwork processed with HR and then I will start working!
This week Daniel and I were also able to go on not one but TWO dates! It was so much fun. The first night we had a banquet for Daniel's school that we went to and the other night we attended a BBQ that had dance lessons after. We had a really great time and my toes aren't even that sore!
And of course listening to General Conference is always an amazing experience. I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life and for all of the inspired talks that were given.
Lyza has been very busy sprouting more teeth! She is now working on tooth #7! One of the things she likes the most to soothe her sore little gums is frozen freezies. She munches on these until they get nice and slushy.
Lyza's favorite activity is looking at her books. We spend a lot of time everyday looking through all of her books. She loves to point at the pictures and babble away about them.
Isn't she looking SO grown up?
Daniel had a busy day yesterday at school. So after the morning session of conference Lyza and I met up with some of the other ladies from our ward to go to Harvest Fest at WSU's Organic Farm. We had a great time walking around and looking at everything.
Here we are on the hay ride.

Our little farm girl liked checking out her new surroundings.
Bailey always enjoys playing with Lyza and was trying to share her pumpkin with her.
Quinn and Lyza playing with their baby pumpkins.

After we were done walking through the pumpkin patch we headed over to the apple orchard!

Lyza was pretty excited about all of the yummy apples!
She kept on trying to eat them but would only chew on the stems.
Looks like she has a new best friend :)

Look Mom! I got the lid off of my puffs and dumped them all over the back of the car! ..........no wonder she was being so quiet on the drive home.
Lyza's expression cracks me up in this picture. This was taken during General Conference. We all stayed in our pj's for the majority of the day. Lyza played with her books and I know it looks like I am cuddled up sleeping but I was actually binding my quilt.
Speaking of my quilt......I finally finished it today! Last fall I bought all of this fabric to make a quilt and then it sat in a box all year. I guess I got a little busy with having a baby and a few other things :) So when I got a new fancy sewing machine for my birthday this year I decided I had better sew a quilt and here is the final result!
I got the idea from pinterest (of course) and did the quilting on my sewing machine.
After Conference today we decided to get out and enjoy the nice weather. We drove over to campus and went for a nice walk.
I'm so lucky to have these two :)
The leaves are just starting to turn color and everything looked so beautiful.
Daniel and Lyza under the umbrella tree.
Some of the beautiful buildings on campus.

Daniel worked the stroller all the way down these stairs only for us to realize that the path we had been walking on stopped at the bottom of the stairs......haha.
 Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
