Squirrels Flying and Wood that is Silver

 Last Sunday afternoon I took the three oldest kids to Falls Park while Kim and Henry were napping

I got some photos of the falls

With flowing water I like to use a slow shutter speed (1/2 second here) to smooth out the water and give it a silky look

This is the same shot but with a shutter speed of 1/50

There were lots of ducks and geese at the park

It looks like Mason is chasing the goslings here with a net and he technically is. However, the net was for tadpoles and/or fish. He wasn't trying to catch the goslings with a net ;)

He never let them stand still

The kids really wanted to catch a fish but they never did

Lyza's teacher had a rough day on Monday (she sent a message to the parents about it) so we decided to bake her some cookies for FHE and drop them off (she lives across the street)

We have all been enjoying riding bikes

Nixon got the highest score on the end of the year math test so he got to take home a board game

The kids went to the library and got some summer work/activity books

When you take a photo of Mason you get a wide variety of expressions

Kim tried a Pop Tart for the first time and decided to mimic Mason

It is hard to look as cute as him though

Henry loved playing in the sink this week

He is also the best helper mowing the lawn

Friday night Kim took the two big kids and Henry on a little bike ride to Mill River to practice distance riding and condition them for a bike ride this summer

Nixon was attacked by a crab

Kim went on a bike bike ride Saturday morning with friends

 

Yesterday Nixon attended a friend's birthday party at Flying Squirrel. Henry and I tagged along

We had a blast

We grabbed some Wendy's for lunch after

While we were at the party Kim took Lyza and Mason (and Lyza's friend) to Silverwood

They got wet right from the start

And they did a lot of swimming

And water slides

Fruit snacks AND licorice? Lucky boy!

Then they did some more rides after swimming

After dinner Nixon and Henry and I rode bikes to Sonic and they got some icecream

We also rode bikes to our beach and played. It was a beautiful evening

Backflips and Hiking

 Last Sunday afternoon Kim got some cuddles in the hammock

There is a little book library in our neighborhood where people can leave books and others can take them. Kim took the big boys there and read some books.

We took a family bike ride to the elementary school and played at the park together

Lyza and Nixon dug holes, which apparently Lyza does for most recesses

I think he was tired

Nixon can do backflips!

He was so proud of himself

He came home and made sure the magic had not worn off

When Kim is in charge of food for a stake youth conference we get a van full of water, snacks, and candy

Henry falls asleep on the floor more often than he falls asleep in his bed

The lilies of the valley are looking good

Kim got her biometric screening done for her citizenship. Next will be the interview

We only see homeless people when we go to Spokane

Kim's candy table looked awesome and was a hit with the kids

I think this is Kim's presidency

Saturday morning I took a bike ride West on the Centennial Trail and ended up in Liberty Lake

It was windy but the ride there didn't seem too bad (because I hadn't realized I had a tail wind). When it was time to turn around I realized how much harder it was riding into the wind

While Kim was at the youth conference Saturday afternoon I took the kids hiking

We saw some cave creatures

They always love playing on these big rocks

And taking breaks for snacks

Aren't they cute together?

Henry was very independent

After I took this picture I asked Nixon why he was so mad. He said he wasn't mad, he was just tired. He sure fooled me!

They are sure a cute bunch
