Valentines and 9 Year Anniversary

Sometimes when you color with markers the markers mysteriously end up on your lips
The warm weather is much appreciated and it is nice to get out of the house for a walk
 Or run
The kids love walking on the snow

Lyza and Kim made some really yummy cookies for Valentine's day

The kids enjoyed decorating them (and of course eating them)

We have been asking Lyza to help clean Nixon up after meals and they both think it is pretty funny
I am not sure what is on her head, but she looks cute
Mason liked having a friend to play with when we were watching some friends' kids
There is always lots of craziness when we get extra kids in our house
Kim planned a Valentine's exchange party at the church and the kids had lots of fun

She made a photo area with props that was lots of fun

Nixon loved chasing the ball around
They got lots of valentines and treats
Nixon was REALLY excited about his Spider Man valentines
Kim had some fun taking pictures of this guy

 What a rock star
Lyza has been learning how to fold laundry

On our anniversary Kim made the kids dinner and let them eat first, then we gave them each a phone (except Mason ;) and put them in their bedroom to play while we had a peaceful dinner (we went out to eat the next night). It almost worked, but it was a good try and we still had an amazing meal together and didn't have to try and talk over the kids.
These 9 years have been pretty good!
Feeding Mason is pretty hit or miss, this time it was a hit
The kids watching a video together while we were having our quiet meal
We shared some of our chocolate dipped strawberries with the kids
 Cute boy
Lyza always manages to get stuck in the snow when she is playing outside
 This boy sure loves kissing

Nixon likes to try and find the matches for the socks
Lyza thought she was pretty clever yesterday putting the dinosaur bucket she got from the store over her head in the rain
Here is a cute video of Mason laughing at his silly sister. Take care

3.2 Decades Old!

For my birthday breakfast I requested waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. I think Nixon enjoyed it more than I did!
I had a visit from this crazy bunch at work
After a wonderful dinner the kids helped me eat open some presents

 Yummy wrapping paper!
I didn't feel like cake this year, so I requested brownies (with mint chocolate chip ice cream of course)
I had more than enough help blowing out the candles. Thanks for the fun birthday!
Sometimes I can't believe how grown up Lyza is looking, but then she says or does something that reminds me of her actual age ;)
I think the shirt says it all...
 Setting up her dinosaur city
Nixon waspracticing pen control this week and was pretty frustrated. He is acting like an impatient perfectionist...when he isn't perfectly on the lines he gets really frustrated. Hopefully this will help teach him patience!
Mason loved putting each piece of food from the play kitchen in his mouth

He also rode in the shopping cart for the first time. Isn't he looking so big?
The kids got these dinosaur feet slippers and when I got home from work I was really scared
Lyza and Nixon worked on making a bag and a box for their valentines

I made an extra shelf for our linen closet yesterday, which meant that I had to take out a bunch of towels and blankets that were in there. I took the opportunity to show the kids my beautiful mission quilt that my even more beautiful wife made me. That was a lot of fun!
It was been nice and warm and we still have lots of snow, so it was a perfect time to play outside together yesterday
Snow cave...(I think Nixon is intentionally trying to make it collapse on me)
If you ever need a lesson on pronouncing dinosaur names, look no further than Mr. Nixon
Speaking of dangerous animals
I will finish of this week's post with some morning Mason tickles, take care
