Who Wants to Lemonade?

Last week was our first week of church since early March. I got to go with these two. Don't they look happy to be there?
Doesn't anyone else use the slide like this?
 Happy Henry
 Some teamwork at the beach

Crawdad: a crayfish, a freshwater crustacean realted to a lobster
This is what Mason looks like after he has snuck out of his room to secretly watch TV with us and falls asleep in the hall
Henry has been working at the balance bike
He won't evern let sprinklers stop him
The bees are out in full force pollinating all of the flowers near our patio
I have no idea what this thing is
This bee was hanging on the flower for a long time and rubbing its legs together
Doesn't this bee look like a transformer? (I love Transformers)

One evening I took out the disco ball and turned on the Trolls World Tour soundtrack and the kids had an epic dance party (look at Mason's facial expression)

Nixon also joined in the dancing fun but I think the camera was away by that point
Nixon has caught the reading bug and read his first chapter book this week

A puppy at the beach? Yes, please!
Doesn't Henry's face say it all?

I decided to stay up late and try and get some pictures of Neowise one more time. The moon greeted me but didn't stick around for too long
You can see the comet here just a little lower than the center of the picture. You can see the tail
Here is a picture with it a little larger
And here it is over the sprinkler (is that what you call them in a farmer's field?)
This is just a shot of some of the other stars
In preparation of his surgery on Monday Mason got tested for COVID-19. We assume he is negative but won't know for sure until the morning of the surgery
It is raspberry season, which means JAM
 What a great berry picker
The kids have lemonade stand on their summer bucket list so they helped prepare for a stand by helping make lemon cookie
They also helped with the signs
Look how excited Henry gets for a walk
There is never a dull moment with these two
After a 12 mile run on Saturday morning Kim took a few minutes to ice down her knees
Saturday morning we got the signs all set up
We made LOTS of white chocolate lemon popcorn
We frosted the lemon cookies (which sold better than hot cakes) and we also made lots of lemonade
 What a cute bunch!
I especially love the sign Lyza made
Lyza was a champ at serving up the lemonade
And Nixon was amazing at dishing up the cookies
Who wouldn't want to puchase finger food and a drink from these smiley faces during a pandemic?
They did such a good job
It was also fun spending a few minutes sitting outside with my wonderful wife
We even got a visit from a professional yo-yoer (is that a word?) that Lyza had met at school
We had a hot dog roast and s'mores that evening

The moon was also too beautiful not to document
We hope you had a good week and another this next week

Family Silverwood Day!

The kids had making friendship bracelets on their summer bucket list. Here is Nixon sporting his.
The bucket list also had this activity breaking ice with different things frozen in it

 Big pancake for breakfast
I took the day off work on Thursday and we went to Silverwood as a family
 We had so much fun
 It was exhausting!

The flowers on the way out were really pretty
Here is a video of some of the fun
I tried to watch the neowise comet one night but couldn't see it from our house. I did get a good view of the big dipper though
The kids were so proud of this mountain they made in the sand box
On Friday night I drove out to the prairie to try and see the comet. I got it in one of my first pictures without even realizing it (bottom right quadrant near the power lines)
Clouds came in and started covering the area near the big dipper so I shot another part of the sky and caught a shooting star (top right quadrant)
I also had fun with light trails from cars
 Mason is getting more creative
Our raspberries are doing really well this year

I have been stalking the wasps with my macro lenses

The movement of its bum/stinger is really unsettling
I have also been trying to get shots of the bees. They are really hard to photograph because they are always on the move

You can see from this video that they never hold still
I also found a nasty looking spider while I was cleaning in the garage. It kind of looks like a black widow

It was really hot yesterday so we went to the beach. Lyza enjoyed reading before she got in the water
 Henry is ready for fun
Mason looks so cute when he wears my hat
That's all for now. Take care
