He is a Baller!

Nixon and Mason have both been very busy with perler beads

The boys had all their shoes ready for church last Sunday

Last Sunday I took all the kids to falls park to get some fresh air. The water was really flowing through the dam.

Here is what it looked like from in the air

The kids had lots of fun hiking and exploring

I flew the drone way too close to the water and was nervous the whole time something was going to go wrong

The little boys enjoyed making fruit loop necklaces this week

This is a pretty complicated puzzle

Mason and his friend

Henry took a page out of Mason's book and wrapped up a random toy to give to Mason as a present

Nixon got to play human Hungry Hungry Hippos for his primary activity this week

The kids had fun at our park on Friday when there was no school

Nixon and I had our first basketball game on Saturday. The team did really well (I didn't focus too much on the score but we were always at least 10 points ahead). Nixon did well getting 4 baskets.

Later that day we went over to another beach along the river so Nixon could look for treasure and we could explore

The most valuable thing he found was a can

I flew the drone for a few minutes but not too long since I had all three boys to watch

Henry loved throwing rocks and sand into the water

I am always amazed when the water is low and all of these tree roots are exposed

Nixon climbed way too high up this tree

Saturday night Kim and I played pickleball with five other couples for a birthday party. It was a fun night together.

The guy on the right IS tall but he is also closer to the camera than the rest of the guys so it exaggerates his height

Henry was performing for us this morning with the microphone Mason got him for Christmas

I tried to join in but no one thought it was as cute

Have a great week and take care

We got a...TRUCK?

For some reason we all ended out wearing stick-on earrings last Sunday. Henry looked the best.

Basketball practice for Nixon started last week so we were practicing in the backyard. Hopefully it goes well because his coach is a little bit of a dud ;)

It is rare that he falls asleep like this

Henry has really liked these magnet tiles

Lyza got to go to the fabric store to pick out fabric for a new nightgown and she was overwhelmed with all the choices

She decided on moth fabric (of course)

These two got their Canadian citizenship this week so our citizenship (both Canadian and American) is all finalized

Kim and I have been talking about replacing the Kia with a truck sometime and started looking at used trucks just to get an idea of the market. We haven't been in a hurry but found a good deal on a truck on Thursday and then looked at it on Friday and bought it. We are now true North Idaho rednecks ;)

Good-bye Kia

I got to take the three big kids to Triple Play for a fundraiser for their school on Friday night. We played laser tag, the kids did some laser rooms, and then we swam for the rest of the night

Here is a little video I made with the drone while Nixon and Mason were looking for treasure at the beach

That's all for now. Take care.

Back to Twilight Skiing

I have been having lots of fun with my drone (at least when the weather cooperates)

A couple Sundays ago I took the drone up at sunset and it was cool to see the sunset from our house (I just had to get up 400 feet)

I think these little planet photos are so fun

But nothing compared to this

Here is a video of my sunset flight

After that we went over to the neighbors' house because they wanted to show us some Christmas decorations before they put them away. It turned into a nice visit and we learned a lot about them and their lives

For Family Home Evening at the start of the year we focused on goals

Check out this creation

Mason got to play some Monopoly Jr.

We got a TON of snow the first week of January so the kids got to sled in the front yard

Kim and a couple friends saw West Side Story. They were the only three in the theater.

When we got all of the snow I wasn't feeling good so Kim did most of the shoveling. Nixon also helped out.

That is A LOT of snow!

When I was flying the drone from the backyard Kim found Mason standing in the front yard (shirtless) watching the drone

Here is a 180 degree panorama

And the sun low in the sky

Here is a little planet from that afternoon

We got Nixon's boots fitted to his new skis

We had out first skiing of the year two Saturdays ago. We all went except Henry. Mason did pretty good for his first time

I got to spend some time on the lift with Lyza

Here is a little video of Kim helping Mason go down the big hill at the end of the evening

And riding the chair lift with him

And Kim and Nixon looking like pros

Here is another sunset photo from the drone

Kim and I took Lyza out on a date to Red Robin and she got a peperoni pizza

Mason helped Kim made these crackers

We have had warm weather and most of our snow is gone. The kids have had fun finding ice and chunks of snow and breaking them

Henry on a walk with his friend

Henry also wanted to use sidewalk chalk, although I think it is still a little too cold

Nixon and I went skiing together yesterday. We rode the shuttle up the mountain and we were the only ones on the bus (going down was another story)

Since it is a long weekend there were fireworks and a celebration planned for the evening so it was really busy on the mountain (notice the line of fog/cloud about the height of the clock? More on that later)

Up the mountain the visibility was horrible and we were right in a cloud. Nixon and I went down once together. We both fell at about the same point. I lost my phone and didn't realize it until I was halfway down the run. Luckily someone found it and turned it in.

We stuck to the lower run for the rest of the night. We also watched the fireworks. The fireworks were cool but obscured by the same cloud on the upper part of the mountain.

It was really hard to get any photos of the fireworks because the visibility was so poor

Have a great week and take care
