We didn't get autumn!

On a walk last week we (Nixon) found a dead snake on the sidewalk

A young family (one child Henry's age) just bought this double decker bus and plan on converting it into a home. We had to check it out.
Grandma Bullock came for a visit this week and the kids were so happy to see her
We put her right to work picking apples
 150 pounds!
Kim and her mom treated themselves to pedicures
They went down to the park one day and things went from this picturesque scene
To Mason swimming in his clothes
 Getting some mother-daughter time
Henry and Grandma played with bubbles while Kim potted a new plant
We taught Grandma to play Arkle
I took another sunrise time lapse and the clouds are pretty cool in this one
Mason was lots of help while Grandma and Kim made apple sauce
He literally jumped right in to help
The boys were always willing to help

Nixon enjoying the yummy apple sauce
the squirrels took care of the missed apples
Lyza got to do some crafting with her grandma
Kim enjoyed making apple sauce all day so much that she decided to make some apple butter in the evening
That is a lot of apple sauce
And now with the apple butter
 Playing some peek-a-boo with Henry
Here is Lyza sharing some wisdom
Mother nature is seriously confused. We got our first snow fall this year in September! Not even Edmonton got this snow fall ;)
Henry sporting his new aviator jacket from Grandma
These two did something yesterday that completely shocked us...they played together! Nixon started giving Mason piggy back rides and they both had a blast! They had so much fun that at dinner time they both asked if they could sit next to each other. Well, before the meal was over Nixon was regretting that decision. It was still cute though watching them be best buds, even if it was only for a little while
Kim got a new haircut and she looks stunning (even in a bathroom selfie ;)
Take care

A much slower pace

Life has finally slowed down a little (compared to the crazy pace of this last summer)
Kim and I taught primary last Sunday and one of the classes that we got to teach was Nixon's. We also had Henry with us and he was a little bit of a distraction
Last Sunday afternoon these kids both decided to make something for their wonderful mother. They are so sweet!
Google photos made us this video of Henry growing up. Besides the over dramatic music, the video is fun to watch
Henry is starting to actually play with toys and it is really fun watching him develop skills. Watch his face when he gets the ring on the stick
Everyone eats cookies with a headlamp on, right?
Spending some quality time together ;) Just kidding
Kim got a little decorating bug
This is our family motto right now
 Yummy breakfast
Put a picture frame around that cute boy's face
Some things remain constant in the universe. Like that fact that kids love rides in laundry baskets
Also, the cuteness of Henry's dancing is getting out of control!
I also love how Mason says "dinosaur" right now
We woke up to really thick fog yesterday morning and I took my ninja sidekick down to the river to see if there would be any cool photos
Unsurprisingly, when it is super foggy there isn't much to see except fog. This is the best I could come up with
This morning was much nicer. We were treated by a beautiful clear sky and a beautiful sunrise (as beautiful as it gets from our urban vantage point)
After the beautiful sunrise I was treated to a happy Mason. Keep in mind that Mason is three and three-year-olds are not often "happy" without bribery or meeting their terrorist-like demands. What made this even more magical is that last night while Kim and I were at the adult session of stake conference, Mason slept from about 6pm to 8pm because the babysitter couldn't wake him up. Let's just say he didn't get a typical sleep last night. Despite all of this, Mason was happy this morning and singing as he had breakfast (I had to repeat part of the video for this because once I started recording he didn't sing as freely, but you get the idea)
I wish Mason's mood carried through sacrament meeting but we will just focus on the good right now
Henry is getting so good at walking. Proof:
That's all for now.
Take care

Goalllllllll!

Kim did a fun experiment with the kids. They placed skittle on a plate and added water. The result was beautiful...and tasty!

The best part was drinking up the water with straws and eating the skittles
Lyza got to go to her friend's birthday party
Mason has been helping Kim in the kitchen
Henry is taking steps and melting our hearts. He is up to about 4 steps at a time. Almost there!
Nixon got to go do some shopping with his mom
While the rest of us played at the park and the beach
On Tuesday night while we were watching America's Got Talent Henry was super cute looking through books and throwing a ball around

But don't take my word for it, see for yourself
Kim and Nixon devised a plan to scare Lyza while she was walking home from the bus

She was surprisingly violent when faced with a scary dinosaur
Our friends took Kim and I (and Henry) out for dinner on Friday night
Henry was so happy to play with a spoon and a knife
He also loved munching on the chicken wing bones
Saturday was Nixon's first soccer game of the fall season. He scored a goal right away.
Here he is after another one of his goals (he got 4 that game)
He does such a good job taking the ball and getting out in front of the pack
He also knows how to have fun with his teammates

 Another goal

After all of that soccer we were pretty tired
Meanwhile, Kim had been canning like a maniac!
That is a lot of pears!

Kim also went on two separate runs with Lyza and Nixon. Each time they ran 1.7 miles. Lyza and Nixon both did great!
Nixon was pretty spent by the end of the day
Hope you all had a fun week
Take care
