Father's Day, Girls Camp, Bike Ride, and Mud Run

The primary sang in sacrament meeting for Father's Day and Mason had a short solo right at the start of the song

I Got to attend primary and be a mystery dad. It was so much fun.

On the way home from church Mason's home made stress ball (balloon filled with flour) broke so we had some mess to clean up

I got to help cook my Father's Day meal

These boys played in the sand box

What a delicious meal: rib eye steak, corn on the cob, and a Greek couscous salad

I was treated to an unexpected performance

The kids gave me some very thoughtful gifts

I even learned some things about myself

Kim and the kids made the cutest card for me

And I got some awesome gifts

I had the next day off work for Juneteenth so I took the boys and Nixon's friends on a bike ride and to the river

Lyza left for girls camp on Tuesday

Here she is with her best friend Jane who came with her

The boys got to play at Fort Sherman

Wednesday evening Kim drove up to camp to spend the evening with the girls and she got to make sure Lyza was surviving

Lyza was doing great and having lots of fun

Here she is in her tent

They had a beautiful camp spot on Twin Lakes

That evening I played some basketball in the backyard and made this shot that I call: Mediocre Shot

The next evening we met up with another family and did a bike ride together on a portion of the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes (the bike trail Kim recently rode with friends)

The kids all did better than we expected so we ended out riding almost 16 miles total

It was a beautiful evening

The kids played in the water when we got to Harrison

This was our group (minus Kim who took the picture)

Then it was time to ride another 8 miles back

Look at that deer

Our group (sans Henry)

Kim picked up some flowers along the way

Henry passed out on the drive home

Here are some clips from the evening

Kim and Nixon with their best smiles at the library

Mason showing off a build

Lyza came home on Friday. She had so much fun. She was only gone for 4 days (3 nights) but everyone at home commented at least once how it didn't feel the same without her and that we missed her

On Saturday Kim and Nixon did a mud run with some friends

Here they are before the race

Henry waiting before the race

It was a mad dash to begin the race

The first obstacle

Nixon's friend Jacob got to run the race with his younger brother and parents

Getting sprayed with some water right before the mud bogs

Then things started to get muddy

Nixon lost his shoes in the mud

Kim got to finish the race with two pairs of shoes

Finished

Then Kim and Nixon went back to help his friend's younger brother and mom finish the race so the second time they finished it they were a lot muddier

Hosing down Nixon

Snow cones after the race

A true warrior!

Have a great week!
