Ski School

We had some fun with puzzles a couple weeks ago

Lyza learned how to make herself pancakes

We used to have snow (it is mostly gone now). This is when it was cold and dry and we had light fluffy snow.

Henry even did some shoveling with his backpack on after school

Kim took the kids sledding after school

They had fun with some jumps

Henry playing games with his sloth is the cutest

The next day we all went sledding after school and it got dark quick

Mason got to show off what he has been doing in challenge that evening. He read a poem to everyone in attendance at the event.

After that I got to take Nixon and see what he has been doing in challenge. He was proud of their projects.

Lyza had school off this day and got to go on a date with Kim. This is one of the new cookies from Costco they sell at the restaurant.

That evening Lyza and I got to go to the temple.

Henry surprised me with this octopus toy

The next day was skiing and the kids' first day of ski school. It was super busy at the mountain and very chaotic getting the kids in class. After that things slowed down and were more enjoyable.

I think he is resting?

Kim was in charge of a tri-stake youth dance that night. There was a movie theme and she dressed up as Wednesday Addams.

We woke up the next morning to everything covered in ice so church was canceled. The kids all went out in the back yard and made a snow cave and played in the back yard.

Mason made this trident out of paper

We have been encouraging Henry to try new foods and he likes when he gets to mess around with them

Mason made a soccer game (complete with net, ball, and goalie) completely out of paper.

Things have warmed up considerably and the snow is disappearing. Henry has even been out on his bike.

Some more paper creations Mason made with his friend.

Henry is rocking kindergarten and doing very well with his sight words

I got to take our piano apart a couple nights ago and figure out why a key was sticking

We found this piece of paper (likely from one of Henry's crown) stuck between two keys

We went skiing again yesterday and it was a little too warm for this time of year

Henry was happy about this dismount from the lift

Mason's form is funny at times

Kim working with Lyza on a blue run

Ski school was kind of crazy but not as bad as last week

Last night Kim and I went to a game night with some friends. This is me in the middle of trying to act out "Oprah." It was really hard, but eventually my team got it ;)

That's it for now. Have a good week.

A New Year and Some Really Cold Weather

On New Year's Day Mason made a pinata

They had fun with it

We stuck a sparkler in an orange and watched what happened as is burned inside the orange

Henry set all of his car tracks up together and had a blast

I fried up some halibut from Alaska for dinner one evening

Mason after setting up breakfast for everyone

The marble run is back!

The kids used their gift card from Grandma and Grandpa Bullock at the Well Read Moose

Henry loves this puzzle he bought

We taught Henry how to make a PBJ sandwich

Nixon has impressed me with his scripture study this year

Henry is working on his coloring

We made it our skiing as a family on the last Saturday of the Christmas break

There was lots of new snow and the conditions were awesome

Here is a jump I caught Nixon on

We tried out the new Harry Potter board game

Kim and I took a day off this week while the kids were in school and we skied together

The mountain had gotten LOTS of fresh snow and it wasn't too cold yet (that changed two days later)

We had a great time together and skied lots of runs

It was a beautiful day

Mason made this. It is 6 sheets of paper put together

Friday it got really cold (a high of -20 Celsius) and yesterday was a high of -19 Celsius. Yesterday morning when it was about -22C I tried throwing boiling water into the air and this was the result

Other than the fear of hurling boiling water at my body, it was pretty fun

Kim and the kids played this game in the afternoon yesterday and after the kids enjoyed stacking the blocks

Mason had fun pulling as many blocks out as possible before it collapsed

It is supposed to warm up on Tuesday so stay warm and have a good week!
