Henry and Mason woke up to a surprise on April 1st
We ate dinner that day at the Mystery Cafe
I installed the baseboards in the exercise room after the lvp was installed
Mason getting puzzles from the library
We had carpet show up for the basement. However, it all had to be taken out after it was cut because it was a defective product and couldn't be used
Kim took the boys to the roller skate park and they had so much fun. Mason especially loved showing off his skills
Henry got some good practice and was feeling pretty confident by the end
We kept our traditional alive and made resurrection rolls for a family home evening with an Easter theme
Henry made deviled eggs almost all on his own
We got a cotton candy maker that is lots of fun
Lyza falling asleep on the drive to the temple
The four of us went to the temple together
After the family went to an Easter themed display at our church building
For the Saturday sessions of General Conference I listened to the speakers while I built a garden shed
Kim made us a delicious breakfast
We got to participate in a solemn assembly and it was awesome seeing our deacon participate
That shed had a lot of pieces
I had to make sure it could handle some weight
Nixon helped out
Sunday was Easter and the kids got some things from the bunny
Mason built this out of Lego
Look at those beautiful tulips
The boys all got some things to build
Nixon built this Michael Jackson figure
The kids got to do an Easter egg hunt (check out the finished shed)
Lyza even got on the trampoline
He loves to build
Kim had been trying to enjoy good weather and get back into running
It helps to find some pretty views
The new carpet came and they got it installed
We got a new desk for the family
Nixon had his first deacons quorum camp out. We made tin foil dinners and they turned out really good
The next morning it was really cold out but Nixon got in the water for a polar bear plunge
Luckily there was a fire to warm up with
Then he got back in again with some of the other boys
And then back to the fire
We had soccer and football that day. Henry was goalie for his team and did a great job
Mason has been enjoying playing flag football
I feel sorry for the quarter backs getting rushed by this kid
We got our sectional delivered and our movie room is almost complete
Nixon and I built some shelving for his closet
Then we built his new bed frame
It looks good
That allowed us to move Mason to Nixon's old room so that both Mason and Henry can have their own rooms. They are all very happy to be in their own spaces.
I added a clothes rod and shelf to Nixon's closet
And now he has lots of room for his clothes and things
The tile guy came and started our basement shower
Nixon is now taller than Lyza!
We got our mini fridge for the basement
Mason got his team pictures for football
Here he is rushing the QB
Look at that pretty tile!
Mason likes to roller blade with Kim while she runs
Here I am loading up my files and exhibits for a trial. It was supposed to be two days but ended out taking five days!
We love how big Nixon's hair gets when he rides on the scooter
Nixon had a track meet and Kim took him to try Raising Cane's after
When is the last time you fell asleep wearing over the ear headphones?
We got mirrors installed in our exercise room
We tried to get the final inspection done for our basement but it failed because we hadn't replaced the railing going down the stairs. We hadn't replaced the railing yet because we thought it would be easier to paint the stairwell with the railing off. That failure meant I had to hurry and get the painting done so we could reschedule the inspection.
We had more games on Saturday
And I got the painting done
Kim and I went out for dinner to a Japanese place that cooks the food right next to your table (that style is called teppanyaki)
It was lots of fun
And delicious (they used lots of butter ;)
It was quite the show
It was a great date
More running
We got shelving put up in the exercise room
We got our guest bedroom bed all assembled
Nixon had a track meet and was fun to watch
Hurdles are really tricky and he is doing well learning them
He is also doing shot put
And he is running solo as well as in a team relay
Lyza had a concert last week that I got to attend
I took Kim out for lunch on Friday because I needed to visit a client's home that was very close to one of our favorite restaurants
We had our first hot dog roast of the season this weekend
Saturday was more games. Henry did a great job as goalie
Mason had a good football game. He got his first interception and he pulled some flags
Nixon had a tough soccer game but did really well as ususal
Nixon got to go to Silverwood for a friend's birthday party so I took the two little boys out for lunch to Costco after their games
Life has been busy but we are enjoying the beautiful weather and counting down the days to summer.
Take care
