Happy 10th Birthday Nixon!

A couple weeks ago I noticed this Cooper's Hawk in our backyard. Our neighbor thinks it was hunting for quail. I did hear quite a few quail that day...

Mason made this cute crown for his mom

Mason got to attend a Great to Be Eight fireside a couple weeks ago. He is very excited to be baptized this year.

The boys enjoyed Valentine's Day at school and got lots of goodies

Kim made a cute dinner (including heart-shaped bread sticks) and we had the missionaries over for dinner

The kids also got some chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert

Last week Nixon got to have a pool party for his birthday and invite some friends. We rented a hotel room for a night and used the hotel pool.

We all had fun swimming

And relaxing in the hot tub

We ordered pizza for dinner

There was fresh snow that day so the boys loved running in the snow and then jumping in the pool/hot tub

Nixon had fun opening gifts

Nixon wanted donuts instead of cake (massive apple fritter on his plate)

Hanging out in the room after

Nixon and I stayed the night in the hotel room. We got up early and exercised together in the gym.

Then Kim, Mason, and Henry met us for breakfast (Lyza had school)

Nixon was pretty tired that morning but he had a really fun party

This overly friendly cat is always hanging out by our house

Kim and I celebrated our 16th anniversary! We went out for a wonderful dinner with friends and had so much fun that we didn't take any pictures.

We cleaned the church last Saturday (and didn't ski)

The boys and I conquered this puzzle together

Lyza had a stake youth volleyball tournament

I replaced a noisy part in our dishwasher

When Mason decides he is going to go build a snowman it is the most peaceful 30 minutes of the day

Henry has been pretty serious about his reading lately. He even sets a timer to make sure he is reading long enough.

Mason has also been really into reading

The kids were excited to receive Valentine's cards in the mail from Grandma and Grandpa Keyes

During the stake volleyball tournament there was a service project putting together hygiene kits for service members. They ran out of a few items so Kim ordered more and our kids helped us finish the kits

On Nixon's birthday he really wanted to go skiing. Kim wasn't feeling well so I took him and a friend skiing for the day

It was the most beautiful and perfect day

We skied HARD. 18 runs with only a short lunch break. It was amazing how much skiing we could get in when we didn't have to worry about littles.

A view of Eagle Peak (the second mountain)

Nixon and Eisley are a good skiing pair

I am glad I got to tag along and spend an amazing day with Nixon.

Nixon had some pretty good jumps

While we were out skiing Kim did a little shopping. She found new shoes for Henry and he was pretty excited for them. When I came in the door he was wearing them and said "Dad, look at these sick shoes"

After an exhausting day of skiing it was time for presents

After a pizza dinner it was time for dessert. Nixon is not really a fan of cake so he asked for ice cream sundaes. Here he is with the brownie.

Delicious

Kim still wasn't feeling well yesterday so she, Lyza, and Mason stayed home from skiing (ski school) and I took Nixon and Henry. That is two days in a row for Nixon and I...

The day started off with some snow

Henry tried a new run (Black Bear) and he did so well!

We also did Silver, which he had done before, but it was pretty icy and hard. He needed a little breather half way down but he handled it like a champ and never fell. He is really improving and getting more comfortable on steep blue runs.

I am all caught up and feeling great. Hope you have a wonderful week.
