Hello Spring Break

Henry got to go to lunch with Kim and loved his smoothie

Dairy Queen had its free ice cream cone day this week so I got to take the boys

The kids started their spring break this week (it is a week and a half total) so they have been meeting up with friends at a different park each day

There were parent teacher conferences this week and each of the kids is doing well. Mason got to show off some of his math skills

Spring has been beautiful so far. When I launch the drone from the house this is my favorite view

Mason got a bow and arrow set because one of his Christmas gifts broke and the company let him choose something to replace it with

All the kids have been enjoying it

This is such a heavenly sight

It is outdoor pickleball season again

Kim played with some friends this week

On Thursday night an ambulance and fire truck pulled up to our neighbor's house. She wasn't acting like herself and her husband knew something was wrong. They found out that she had a brain bleed. It has been a hard few days for her husband. We did just receive word that she is doing quite a bit better today so we are hopeful she will be able to make a full recovery. Our kids have developed a really good relationship with our neighbors and it has been hard for the kids.

On a lighter note, here is a robin with what looks like a bloody beak...Don't worry it is just juice from a berry

We got some yard work done Friday afternoon and on Saturday

Kim and I went on a date last night and got a delicious dinner and then did some *cough* errand running (not pictured)

Here is a sunset pic from the drone

Take care and have a great week

Springing into Spring

Two weekends ago we decided to enjoy the warming weather and went on a hike

It was SUPER muddy but we still had fun together

The kids even found a bunch of bones off the trail

Mason and Nixon really enjoyed climbing the fallen trees

Look at that root ball

Hey Mason

Look at that fruit and sausage waffle :)

Henry has figured out how to get in the fridge

Nixon got to skip school and go skiing with a friend at a new hill

There was lots of snow and he had a great time

I think Kim also had fun

Henry was been enjoying making little forts

And playing doctor with his friend

We love seeing Lyza developing her talents

Kim and I made the leprechaun trap this year but we still didn't catch one

The kids all got clovers from the leprechauns

Kim whipped up a delicious green breakfast for us

Henry got to do some fun activities with Kim that day

That evening Kim and I got to go to the temple before it closes for 4 months for a remodel

Kim saw an add on Facebook for an Easter egg hunt at a local church and then did a double take when the picture was our kids from last year

Another fort

I think Nixon was proud that he was making crescent rolls out of the tube?

Since Kim and I went to the temple Thursday night we did our St. Patty's meal Friday night and it was delicious!

Yesterday I did some yard work with the kids and we set up the trampoline

A new car wash opened up near us this week so Kim took Henry to get a complimentary car wash. He calls it a "car shower" and is so cute about it

Take care

End of Basketball, End of Skiing, Spring is Here, and Wicked!

Mason had a crazy hair day at school and I got to do his hair for him. Isn't he cute?

We have tulips coming out of the ground!

Mason and Henry had an epic play dough session

I got to take Mason out on a date for frozen yogurt. He had so much fun choosing all of his toppings

While we were gone the other kids got some treats from Sonic. Henry was funny with his ice cream cone.

These two are cute playing games together

Henry helped Kim make some muffins (they were delicious)

Lyza bonding with her hamster

Nixon had his final basketball game last week. One of the bad things about being his coach is that I wasn't able to get photos or videos of the game. I did have access to the score sheet and that made me proud! He did really well and also improved over the 6 games they had.

I am proud of him

After his game he and I went skiing for the last twilight skiing of the season

We got there a little early and it was bright for so long that we got to check out some new runs that we normally can't do. Here is a video of those runs. It is a little on the long side but I made it for Nixon...

While we were out skiing Kim took the kids to falls park. The water was really moving through the dam

Good pose Mason

Handsome Henry

Mason got to have a new friend over

Lyza learned how to make bread

She did a great job

She also got a haircut

So cute

Lyza got a date for frozen yogurt with Kim

Like Mason, she enjoyed all the choices of toppings

Kim got to watch her friend's baby for a few hours and got some good cuddles

Look at these cool sunglasses

It finally happened...we got to see Wicked in Spokane! SO FUN!

Lyza loved it and it was so fun to see the joy it brought to her. Kim enjoyed it and I caught so much that I either didn't catch from watching it the first time or had forgotten

Here is a throwback to when I saw Wicked 9 years ago

We had so much fun

It was a beautiful spring day yesterday so the boys and I loaded up some rock that we have accumulated/found in our yard and took it to the dump. Nixon, Mason (not pictured) and Henry were great helpers and we got lots of rock in the truck (four full wheel barrow loads)

Lyza made this mardi gras mask at school

Kim asked Nixon if she could borrow his hoverboard to use for vacuuming. It didn't take long before Nixon wanted to try and did all the vacuuming for her. She is pretty smart.

Take care
