A Visit from Grandma and Grandpa and School is OVER!

We had a family outing to the library and Lyza was in her element

I got to read some books to the little boys

On the last week of school Lyza's special chorus got to perform

Here is one of their songs

One day coming home from work I noticed a bunch of baby spiders on the exterior of the garage. I grabbed the camera and the macro lens before I grabbed the spray

I have never seen them spraying each other while jumping on the trampoline. There is a first time for everything.

Everyone in Mason's class got a beach ball signed by all of the other kids in the class

Here they are on the last day of school

Lyza and her teacher

They always do a family picnic on the last day of school

Mason and his teacher

Nixon and his teacher

Our ward did a family carnival to celebrate the end of the school year, complete with balloon swords

It was a really impressive set up

There were even snow cones

Lyza was a sniper

Hands down the best was the puppet show

Mason got to participate

We all got to try the puppets

The cotton candy was delicious

There was live music and dancing

There was also face painting

Kim's BFF moved

Which also means one of Nixon's friend's moved

Here is Lyza flying the kite she made at school

Lyza got a scorpion sucker and loved it

Grandma and Grandpa Bullock were here for a few days. Grandma even got some help making a quilt.

We attended the grand opening of a new sporting goods store in CDA. There were different vendors and things in the parking lot including a tank

And a Hummer

And some ATVs

There were lots of prizes to be won

Mason found his spirit animal

Kim took her dad road biking

We took Kim's parent's out for dinner to celebrate Craig's retirement

Grandma got to read with the kids

And of course do some puzzles

The boys helped their Grandma and Grandpa watch their stake conference

Nixon got some instruction on doing family history

We all went for a walk to the park

Grandpa got an early father's day gift

We also had a family home evening lesson with a fun game afterward

The library did a magic show we attended the next day and Mason got to go on stage and help out with one of the acts

Henry liked petting the bunny after

To celebrate the end of the school year we took the kids to Kellogg and stayed at the Silver Mountain Resort and played at the water park for a couple of days

Henry got to wear a swim cap because he has some cradle cap that needs to finish healing. He looked so cute and didn't mind it at all.

It was fun to get away without driving too far

And the kids loved the hotel rooms with beds and TVs everywhere

We had lots of fun

Nixon tied for first place in the Panther Prowl so he didn't get a medal right away because the school needed to order more. They told him it would be mailed to him. Every day since school ended he would check the mailbox, sometimes more than once in a day. About a week later it finally arrived

We are proud of him

Mason decided to catch a bee and then put it in the fridge over night so he could handle it safely :)

I got to remove all of this rock from the side of the house so we could replace it with mulch

I took the boys to the landscape yard yesterday to get the mulch

And spend many hours yesterday adding mulch to this area and some other spots in the backyard. The mulch is finally done...kind of. I still need to top up the wood chips in the play area. But we are done with this type of mulch.

That's it for now. Happy Father's Day!
