Back to Skiing and Happy 12th Birthday Lyza!

 Let's get caught up:

There is lots of piano going on and it is really nice to hear the kids practice Christmas songs

Mason is always crafting up a storm

Nixon and I were matching before church a couple weeks ago

Mason gave a talk in primary and did a great job

We enjoyed the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional together

Some puzzles together

The kids thought it was funny that Figgy was reading this book

Henry was so cute playing a game with his "Slothy"

These things have gotten so much use!

Another of Figgy's landing spots

Last Saturday (a week ago) we woke up to two moose across the street

They must have slept there because they had frost on their backs

The boys safely watching through the window

Look at those pyramids

Lyza has been practicing hard for her Christmas concert

That same afternoon we went eagle watching as a family. We didn't see any action but we did see this juvenile up close and posing for the camera

Here is is from a much farther vantage point

We had fun together

Figgy tried to make the kids a snowman but it melted by the time they woke up

Enjoying sacrament meeting last week

Kim helped in primary last week and they turned the Bishop into a Christmas tree

We took a picture together after church

Henry got this in his class and was so excited about it

Mason makes the coolest things

The little boys got some unexpected Pokémon cards and has so much fun with them

For FHE this week we looked at the lights at the resort boardwalk

Everyone waited so patiently for the dragon to breathe fire but it never happened. Must have been out of breath?

We could see the fireworks in the distance from the North Pole

We also went in to the resort to warm up and play with the revolving door ;)

They have the cutest fish in there

Cool group

We found this terrace that we have never noticed before

The should pay Mason to sit here and greet people. It would be a good investment.

Kim helped in Henry's class this week and got to see him in action

She also saw Mason helping out in the lunch room

We had a beautiful sunrise this morning that I got some pictures of

Mason made Figgy a snowman because the one he made melted

We all (except Lyza) got to go skiing on Friday
Here is Mason and Kim on the lift

It was so beautiful

Mason still has it

Kim and Nixon

Henry took a little while to remember what to do but by the end he was skiing like a champ

They were pretty tired on the way home

That evening Lyza had her Christmas concert and she did so well!

She worked really hard and was very relieved when it was all over

You can watch her band here (she plays from 21:31 to 30:30)

Lyza woke up the next morning and was twelve years old! She asked for blueberry scones for breakfast

She got to open gifts with us

In the afternoon she had friends over for a party (she also has three friends that live with her and we were so impressed at how she let those three little boys hang out with her and her friends and be part of the party)

She asked for a rhubarb cake and she got it

She had a good bunch of kids there celebrating with her

She got to open up gifts from her friends

She got two separate gift cards to the local book store

They played lots of games together

She got to use those gift cards after the party and get some books she was really excited for.
We love her so much and are so thankful she is part of our family!

Here's to another fantastic year, Lyza!
