Happy Birthdays Kim and Henry!

Henry is becoming quite the little beach boy. He loves playing in the sand and doesn't try to eat it as much as he used to
Nixon got a few little mp3/recorded books from the library and he loves walking around and listening to them
Miss Lyza had an eye appointment and was on the top of the world trying on all of the different frames. She definitely gravitated toward the colorful ones.
Kim planned a scavenger hunt for the kids in the backyard
I think some of them had fun?
They also got to play with this sprinkler toy and had a blast

The kids hit up the splash park in Coeur d'Alene
Lyza is using this like a hamster wheel
Lyza decided she was bored of her routine cold cereal for breakfast and decided she would make herself something new
The kids came to my office for lunch
 Quail
 Box rides are the best
For Kim's birthday breakfast we had huckleberry and blueberry pancakes
But don't think Kim got off easy, she still had to help man the griddle
 Yum!
Kim's awesome friends brought a babysitter over to the house and took her out for lunch at a cute trendy place in Coeur d'Alene

That evening we did a few presents. Lyza made this beautiful decoration for Kim

Then we went for a walk and down to the beach park for the kids to burn off some energy

 Photo bombed!
And perhaps the best part about a birthday...guiltless chocolate cake!
Mason was ready to help blow out the candles
We started a family movie that night and the kids though it was hilarious (Missing Link)
The next day Kim's birthday celebrations continued. We rented a wave runner and took it out on Coeur d'Alene Lake. It was windy and the water was choppy with massive waves. We had lots of fun!
Then we went out for dinner and a gooey
Sometimes if you want to get something done you have to wear the baby that hates being put down
Kim and I have been enjoying badminton in the backyard. Last Sunday we played several games and Kim destroyed me in all but one...
Henry loves this ukelele and carries it around wherever he goes
It is cute watching Mason try and do things like write
On Monday night my office did a night out at the Spokane Indians baseball game

Watching the kids in the batting cage was lots of fun

Cute!
 The kids loved the mascot

The boys helped Kim can nectarines this week
Nixon was excited to help bring these balloons home for Henry's birthday
At the beach that day someone found a dead crawdad
Kim hard at work making a gourmet first birthday cake (and Mason supervising)
 Perfection!
 Henry was excited

It is hard to believe he is one and we don't have a little baby anymore!
Henry was such a sweet, cuddly, chill baby. Although it is sad his baby stage is over, he is turning out to be a sweet and funny toddler
Here are some clips of him and his cake
And some super sweet pictures (pun intended)

Missing his mamma in all of the excitement

 The aftermath...

Henry also liked eating the cake in a more civilized manner
 Well...sort of
He needed some encouragement to open his presents

The big kids were happy to play with his tunnel even though he is still a little scared of it
Lyza got one of her two pairs of glasses
 Doesn't she look so cute?
Kim and the kids got invited to a pool party this week and had lots of fun
 And lots of treats
Lyza had her second grade orientation this week
Her teacher apparently has 10,000 books that she cycles through the classroom during the year. I think they will get along just fine.
What do you call a cross between a unicorn and a cat? A LYZA
I wasn't around when this happened but it brought a smile to my face watching the video
Kim has been busy swapping out-of-season clothes for the kids and Henry has been right by her side lending a hand (actually both)
The big kids got to go on a golf date with their mom

It was a little bit out of control at time
Mason was really proud of how he decorated his sandwich yesterday
I am not sure this picture needs any explanation...
With summer winding down we made sure to make it to the beach yesterday. Henry had his first kayak ride.
 Nixon chilling on the brachiosaurus
 Mason owning the water fountain
Ending off the day with a hot dog roast and s'mores
Take care
