The Last Two Weeks

What have we been up to in the last couple of weeks? Glad you asked!

Apple blossoms mean apples this fall

Our neighbor brought over some small gifts for the kids

Our friends got a new golden doodle puppy and the kids are in love with him

Mason has a new best friend named Teddy. They have so much fun together

Nixon has discovered that one of his classmates live really close to us so they have been playing (and reading) together more

Henry LOVES his scooter

The water table has come out with the warm weather

Warm weather means freezies

On a hot Friday afternoon Nixon skipped school and went to the beach

Lyza made her primary teachers a card a couple of weeks ago with a picture of a puppy. Her teacher turned that same puppy into this adorable card. She has such sweet teachers.

Our shamrock from St. Patrick's Day is thriving

The humming birds are back

I have never noticed the feathers on the neck of the males and how they sometimes stick out like in the picture here

This one is sticking its tongue out for the camera

I caught this one going potty

Last Saturday I rode from our house to Higgins Point, which is just over 28 miles round trip

The best part was the chocolate croissant I treated myself to at about mile 20

Here is a time lapse of those 20 miles

Last Sunday was of course Mother's Day

The kids helped Kim make a wonderful lunch (German pancakes)

They helped her open presents

This was a sweet present from Nixon

I got to put together one of the presents

She loves it

And as a bonus, the kids have been loving playing with the box (a week later they are still playing with it)

Kim made the most amazing cookies for our dessert

Henry couldn't figure out why his helmet wouldn't go on backwards

Here are the kids playing with the box the next day

We also got a rug to go with the patio furniture and we picked up some pillows from Costco that may or may not match

Last week for parkour Nixon got some more instruction on his back flips. They hook him up to this harness so his coach can suspend him if it looks like he won't land safely

The coach never had to pull on the harness because he was doing so well. Hopefully this week he will do some without the harness

For preschool Mason and Vena made frozen chocolate dipped banana bites (so yummy)

They also played in the box

And made ginormous bubbles

They also played this super fun game outside

And had freezies

This day I set up the GoPro to catch the hummingbirds in super slo-mo

If he isn't going to fall asleep in his bed it is better that he sleeps in this chair than on the floor

Our friends put a zipline in their backyard and the boys got to try it out

Kim also rode the zipline IN A SKIRT!

Good picture Mason?

Friday night we went to a pickleball birthday party and the kids got to play at a new park

On Saturday morning Kim and a friend did a 20 mile bike ride but she didn't take any pictures for me to share

Later in the day I did another 28 mile ride bake to Higgins point and this is the view I got when I got there

I also made a little video (no surprise)

While I was out biking Kim and the two little boys were at a birthday party

Later in the afternoon Kim took all the kids to another birthday party (the third of the weekend) where there was a huge inflatable water slide and a slip and slide

While they were at that party I got out on the river on the jet skis

It has been a busy and fun couple of weeks

Take care

Lyza's Library

Recently I finished reading the Zodiac Legacy: Convergence, written by Stan Lee, the creator of many of the Marvel comic book characters. In this book, a teenage Chinese-American named Steven finds out he has powers. A person named Maxwell will stop at nothing to seize that power and Steven is thrown into an epic battle and must master his powers. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and action.
