Bye Bye July

I forgot to add this video to the blog last week. It is a little mean but really funny!
Here are some of the things we have been up to
Of course playing at the park

Lyza "helped" mamma solve this tricky puzzle

Grandma and Grandpa stopped in for a quick visit on their way to do some camping in Washington
Lyza has a mustache like grandpa

Nixon had some kisses for grandma
 Nixon turned 5 months old!
Kim had a picnic and beach dinner planned one day this week but that got preempted by a crazy thunderstorm. So we had a picnic inside instead
Nixon got a new high chair and loves it
Kim and Lyza did some garage-sale-hopping (garage sailing?) and Lyza scored these Minnie Mouse ears
Nixon got a 5 month photo shoot

This is one of my favorites!

 No one likes pushups!

 Cute feet
We had a ward party last night and Lyza loved the slip-n-slide
Nixon and his lion this morning
That's all for now. I write the bar exam this week, wish me luck!

Summer fun

Here is a quick post of a few of the things we have been up to
This is what I have been up to:
This is what Kim and the kids have been up to:
Lyza helped Kim make some yummy raspberry jam
 Fun times playing with blocks
I did get a short break from my books once

The best swing in town is with mamma
Lyza got to experience two wasp bites (one below the skinned knee and the other on the palm of her hand). Two days later she was outside running after them and trying to chase them again :)
Showing off the craft she made at another of the library's outdoor activities
What is summer without going to the beach almost every day?
 Nice hat little man!
Lyza and Kim made snow! They emptied out some shaving cream and froze it
Then on a 90 degree day Lyza had snow to play with
We switched out some of Lyza's toys that have been in the garage and she was happy as a clam. It was like she had brand new toys again. She was entertained almost all morning (maybe more like 30 minutes, but we'll take what we can get)

Our little boy is growing up too fast. He will be 5 months this coming week.
That's all for now. Take care.

Heat Wave

It is really hot here. It makes me think of The Sandlot
This is the current forecast
Despite the hot weather we have done some fun things
Kim and the kids have been going to weekly outdoor activities sponsored by the library. Here is Lyza making rain clouds with shaving cream, water and food coloring. As you can see from her facial expression she wasn't too thrilled by it, but she enjoyed the rest of the activity!
After she gets to play at the park
Kim took the kids to the splash park
 Nixon liked laying around
Yogurt tube on a hot day
 Park
Another day at the beach. Lyza was doing her best to keep this big hole filled with water

This weekend was the Post Falls festival. On Friday night we went down to the city park. There were musical performance, vendors selling stuff that we don't need or can't afford, and of course, lots of yummy food. Lyza liked her elephant ear
Of course we had to check out the park while we were there
We got some cute pictures of Nixon while Lyza was playing in the park
Saturday morning we went to the parade. It started at 11 am and it was really hot! We took chairs and a giant beach umbrella. We were in the shade the entire time (except Lyza while she was collecting candy) and it was still ridiculously hot.

There is no better parade float than a giant piece of construction machinery
 Lyza loved waving at everyone
An eight-man bike driven by Shriners. Their average age was 75.
They also had a bunch of these little go-karts
One of them chose Lyza to give this little teddy bear to. I think it was a "cutest kid contest" and of course she won!

She loved running out and getting the candy

Nice tractor
Bagpipes
She liked getting a balloon kitty
After we got some hotdogs and had lunch under a big tree
She got some pretty good loot
Here is a video of our happy little boy to finish things off
Take care and stay cool
