Very Thankful

Oh our Lyza is such a joy. After some fun painting on paper she decided that she should paint her nails
Nice hat Nixon
Lyza gave mama this nice "hat" to wear
Nixon and I before church last week
Beautiful Lyza all ready for church
Nixon turned 9 months last week
Lyza really enjoys playing with these magnets

We had a great Thanksgiving break. Today I finished my four day weekend. On Thanksgiving day we went to the church and celebrated with some other families and had a great time
We truly have a lot to be thankful for
Lyza has been a great little helper recently. We have been giving her chores and assignments to do around the house and she is really proud of herself when she completes them. She has been really good to set the table for us before meals. Who cares if the forks are upside down?
She also loves to peel her own oranges. We don't mind because it keeps her occupied for quite a while
Kim did a little Black Friday shopping and Lyza thought the Styrofoam was the best part
On Friday we also did some Christmas decorating. We couldn't find Lyza for a second and then discovered she was inside of the empty wreath box (which just happened to be balancing half-way on the table)

We read the Christmas story together
The kids love playing with their Little People nativity set together

Lyza made a tower with her nativity blocks

I got the Christmas lights hung up
Nixon likes all of the shiny decorations
This guy knows how to go shopping comfortably
After a little shopping trip we decorated the tree together. We are just doing a small tree this year since Nixon is so mobile and getting into everything

We are very excited for Christmas together. It is especially exciting because it is Nixon's first Christmas
Here is a cute video of Nixon playing with Lyza's car (don;t worry about the pink car, he will get his own for Christmas ;)
That's all for now. Take care

First signs of winter

Nixon has been very interested in watching himself in the mirror

Recently he has been making this face as a reaction to his reflection
Don't these two look cute side-by-side in the cart? It doesn't last long because he loves to pull her hair
We got our first snow fall this week (it was all gone the next day and it has rained quite a bit since)
Kim got the kids all bundled up and went for a walk
Nixon got to wear a full snowsuit. It reminded us of the movie "A Christmas Story" when the boy got all bundled up in his snow suit and it was so bulky that he could barely even move
Here is Nixon unsuccessfully trying to roll over
But he looks so cute in his winter gear
Lyza loved playing in the snow
She loved throwing snow at her mama

What a cute hat
It seems like just yesterday she was drawing in the sand with a stick
Now she is drawing in the snow :)
She really loved running at her mom and throwing snow at her
She had another swimming lesson this week. They moved her up into an older age group and she learned how to swim on her own with just a pool noodle

This is her favorite part of the lessons
At the library making a Thanksgiving craft (it's a turkey)
Maybe these two will be a musical act together someday
Nixon has been moving to music a lot more recently. This is how he dances to music

We can never get enough of his laughs
That's all for now. Take care and have a happy American Thanksgiving!

Our kids rarely change out of their pajamas...

Here is a little bit of what we have been up to...
Nixon loves playing with this PINK Little People car
He will play with this thing for 30 minute stretches
This might be the kind of video only a Grandmother can sit through until the end
Sometimes our daughter dresses up like this and dances around like a maniac
Here is a time-lapse video as proof (don't adjust your speakers, there is no sound)
What a cute little boy
His sister is pretty cute too

Miss Lyza decided to combine two of her favorite foods
yogurt tube + quesadilla = yummy
I took an empty Amazon box and cut it into a tunnel and the kids have been having a great time playing with it
Nixon prefers the tunnel, while Lyza would rather turn it into a table and set it up for all of her friends. Girls!
At the library this week our kids had to be front and center while all of the other kids sat on the sidelines with their mommies
My daughter is so cool, she wears her sunglasses at night, in the house!
Mr. Nixon got a new walking toy this week and he loves it. He loves to walk all over the place (in straight lines)
Here is Lyza's latest piece of artwork
How about a video of Nixon eating a pickle?
That's all for now, take care
