Is life going to calm down?

We have been enjoying our new house and warm weather
The kids had a play date at the beach with some of their friends from church. Nixon of course has to put everything in his mouth
 He also loves chasing ducks
I think she could play in the sand all day long
She likes to have snacks at her picnic table
We have been doing lots of yard work trying to whip our lawn into shape
Here is Lyza adding a muddy hole to the yard...thanks
 Doesn't he look cute in a tu-tu?
 This looks more gender appropriate
 Lyza's homemade shoe
Unpacking all of the boxes after a move is fairly easy. What takes a long time is hanging up all of the pictures and decorations. We got Lyza's shelf hung up and she chose what to decorate it with. That's right, a t-rex
 We frosted our front door
Kim found a great deal on an oak table on Craigslist. It's in great condition and has two leaves. Our plan is to refinish it sometime
Miss Lyza has been really helpful recently. Here she is washing the windows
When she draws it looks more and more recognizable. Doesn't that look a little bit like a person?
Nixon tries hard to keep up with Lyza at the park, but that is a tough job for anyone
When I am doing yard work Lyza likes to look for bugs and creepy crawlies. She like the "slippy slimy" earthworms
We got our curtains hung up in the kitchen
Kim took the kids hiking one day to Tubb's Hill and they played at the beach

I love this picture of them
 What a little model

The kids had fun playing with lady bugs

Of course she had to ride the moose
we got Lyza some safety scissors, which seemed  like a good idea until we looked down at the pile of construction paper on the ground and noticed the hair mixed in with it
We had our first light bulb burn out in our vaulted ceilings and we don't have a ladder tall enough to reach it. Kim improvised.
We may have a future engineer on our hands
 Cool hair
He thinks he is so cool strutting around with his sippy cup in his mouth without holding it
 peek-a-boo
Lyza had some blood work done to test for allergies. She came home with band aids on both arms and a whole lot of stickers. She doesn't have any allergies
Lyza had a friend over and she had him wrapped around her little finger. He was helping her put on shoes and her jacket. Good grief!
What a cute outfit she had on yesterday. She looks so grown up.
 Snuggles
 More snuggles
Here is a little video of our pre-adolescent daughter
That's all for now. Take Care

Moving, Easter, and Home Improvements

To say the last few weeks have been busy would be an understatement. But I'll leave it at that because I don't like to be dramatic, no matter what Kim says about me ;)
The week before we moved Nixon got comfortable going down the stairs on his own...just in time to move to a single story house
He has a great sense of humor
The kids were very helpful with packing

Nixon has been enjoying feeding himself lately. He gets really messy at meal time

He is lucky to have a big sister who will give him baths and get him clean
Here he is posing for the camera on Lyza's bed
We got the truck all loaded and unloaded within a couple of hours
We got a good deal on a sectional for our new family room. It fits perfectly
There is an elephant living in our house
Nixon's favorite place in the house is sitting or standing on the fireplace hearth
There is no shortage of work to be done in the backyard
The nearby park is great

One of them is not excited to be shopping

It is really nice to have a fenced yard to let the kids play in

Watering with her squirt gun

During a hail storm you might as well go out and catch the hail
What a cute pair
Sharing snacks with her rooster
We had lots of fun when grandma and grandpa Bullock came to visit
Us boys converted this archway to a door for Nixon's room

Grandma and grandpa also brought some Easter treats

There was lots of playing

The Easter bunny came
Lyza's reaction is so cute (you may have to crank the volume on this one)

He loves this new toy
We built a base for our shed

Cute picture with her grandma
We also watched some General Conference together

Matching shirts
Conference snuggles

Grandma and Lyza made a little paper pulpit and puppets of the First Presidency
Nixon got a little riled up before bedtime with all of the excitement
Lyza combing grandpa's moustache
Sunday was beautiful and we went for a nice long walk between sessions
There was also an Easter egg hunt at the park that the kids got invited to join

Picnic at the park
Ducks

Rolling Easter eggs down the hill

These two got along really well
We also did a little Easter egg hunt in our yard

Throwing the frisbee
This is her building/construction training with grandpa

The ladies made roman blinds for the family room. Great final product
We had a very busy weekend and were able to get several projects done

We got shelving built in the garage so someday we will be able to get it organized and park a car or two inside
These vertical dividers for baking pans will be really nice
The kids had lots of fun with their grandparents
Cute girl!
Nixon loves to kiss and his poor sister doesn't always want to be kissed (mostly because Nixon's kisses are super slobbery
That's all for now
