Getting anxious to meet our little boy!

For Family Home Evening this week I took Lyza and Nixon to an activity at the library. There was a little photo area there with silly props. Lyza and I liked the big sun glasses

 Nixon decided to play shy
Don't these two look cute reading together before bed?
 Kim got a haircut!
Lyza told her that she likes it better long, but maybe it would grow back in her sleep
Kim is donating her hair (12+ inches) to a charity that makes wigs for kids with cancer
I think she is pretty awesome!
This is Nixon's favorite spot to sit, and he wears this helmet all day long
The office got us this baby carrier for a baby gift. We tried it out with our big baby. For a kid this size, it is pretty comfortable

Hopefully our new boy doesn't start out this big ;-)
On Friday night we went to the Car d'Alene car show as a family
 Cute girl

Sometimes she doesn't cooperate for pictures
We had lots of fun, although some of the cars were a little too loud for our sensitive little children. It is amazing how their own noise doesn't bother their ears, but other noisy things do
We planted about 20 strawberry plants last year and pulled off any fruit they started so that they could just grow strong healthy plants without having to produce fruit. That is paying off this year. We have been getting a lot of strawberries and they are delicious
There are few times I am jealous of Kim's belly, but when we are watching movies and she uses it as a snack tray, I am a little jealous
We had waffles with whipped cream and strawberries for breakfast yesterday morning and this guy was loving it
He is also a pretty good helper/assistant. I made a little firewood holder/platform yesterday and organized some of the messy firewood we have accumulated from dead branches from our big pine trees
He thought the tape measure was awesome
The finished product looks better than the ugly pile I had before
I was telling my dad about all of the wasps we have around here and that the most common have little nests all over the place that aren't enclosed. Here is one I found yesterday on the opening of our garage door. They will make something like this in as little time as a day. If I can reach them with the shop vac I just vacuum them up, and if they are too high I just spray them with the hose
 Kim got a pedicure yesterday
I enjoyed some nice snuggles and reading with Lyza this morning before church (I skipped my early meeting)
Kim had a wonderful breakfast for me. Lyza made me a really nice card
Kim asked her to fill in the blanks and here are her answers
And on the back she drew a picture of me when I was a little boy

 I have a wonderful family
I got a picture with my cute kids before church
As I was walking back to the house after our little photo shoot I got attacked by a wasp and Kim got some of it on camera. Maybe it was payback for vacuuming up that nest yesterday?
Here is Lyza helping with one of my presents
Of course I got spoiled

Kim and the kids made me this awesome card

I got a few different pairs of fun work socks (way better than the socks I used to wear landscaping ;-)
And I also got a new weed eater
So I had to try it out for a few minutes
I had a good day today and was treated pretty well.
We love our dads and truly appreciate all of their hard work and sacrifice to raise us and teach us well.
Happy Father's Day!

Long Weekend and a Heat Wave

Last time we left off I was setting up the tent to sleep in the backyard with the kids. Here we are thinking we are going to have a relaxing and restful night.
 Kids all tucked into bed

We only lasted until 2 am when we abandoned the tent for warmer sleeping arrangements inside. It was still a fun experience

We really love Lyza and she can be really pleasant and fun to be around. She can also be RIDICULOUSLY unreasonable. This is the fit she threw on a Sunday afternoon when we wanted to go on a walk and she didn't. We told her she could stay home by herself while we went for a walk. We got two houses away and she ran out of the house and threw herself on the grass and started freaking out. It was pretty funny

She likes housing her dinosaurs in her Barbie house
On Memorial Day Kim and Lyza painted the pallet shoe rack I made
Very happy with the finished product

I love this picture
 Fun crafting
Nixon still points to this craft at almost every meal time and tells us that he made it
He has been doing pretty well on his bike
She likes her scooter more than riding a bike
 Future musical duo?
 It is beach season!
And our strawberries are doing very well
I am glad to see the sandbox getting some use
 Family beach day

 Mmmmm...pizza
 Poor little horsie
He has been sitting in the baby car seat and calling himself a baby
Which is fine until he demands that I swing him around
Bump! This baby should be here soon
Last week we got several days in the mid 30s so we had to get the pool out

 Popsicle in the pool? Spoiled!

We have been encouraging Lyza to wash her hands every time after going potty. We told her when she got her sticker chart all full she could go for ice cream. She is pretty excited
 Chocolate is her favorite
 We shared with Nixon too
 Ice cream mustache
 When will this baby come?
 Pre-haircut
 Post-haircut (and really itchy)
Kim found these dinosaur wall stickers at the dollar store for Lyza
Kim and Lyza went on a shopping date together yesterday at Costco. Luck girl got ice cream
Maybe the next post will be about our new little boy? Take care
