The rest of July: Programming, ice, huckleberries, hiking, sewing, swimming, and Henry is 11 months!

Lyza won a summer course at the local community college in a raffle. She chose to do a course on Roblox where she learned to program. She was nervous at first but had lots of fun
Henry is on the verge of walking so we might as well put him to work mowing the lawn
Mason spinning is lots of fun to watch
We have had lots of nights hanging out at the park
For an Activity Days activity Lyza made ice cream
These pictures make me smile and cringe at the same time...
Kim freezes a bunch of toys and things in big blocks of ice and lets the kids break them up with dangerous tools ;)

 They loved it
I am always worried someone will get hurt. This time I was right ;)
That same day Kim also set up a backyard obstacle course for the kids. Can you say "Super Mom"?
Henry is always happy to watch what is going on from his swing
We decided to let Henry try some of our popsicles one evening
Yummy
Kim took the big kids huckleberry picking one evening
Henry is such a cute little patriot
We did the Mudgie and Millie book and scavenger hunt around Coeur d'Alene one Saturday
The book guides you through various sites through the city as you follow the moose and mouse and their statues
While at McEuen park we saw these eagles

The musical instruments are lots of fun

Henry is so cute on the swings
Lyza playing some music with her feet
 "Mulch for sale"
 Off to the next stop

Of course we stopped for ice cream

Then we checked out the boardwalk

We had a picnic lunch at Fort Sherman park

Played at that park for a while

Then walked over to the beach
And we found the final statue

We of course had to check out the fish in the resort
We had a hot dog roast in the backyard for dinner
The kids helped Kim shell peas
I am not sure what is more cute: the little fort that Mason made or his singing Baby Shark
Nixon is always such a good helper
In a previous post I mentioned that both Lyza and Nixon wanted to learn how to sew as goals this summer. They first started on pieces of paper. Then they each got to make a small blanket.

 They did really well
Lunch outside is always a hit
So is the slip 'n slide

With the swimming lessons the kids have been doing it is so much fun to go swimming with them. They have really gotten good at swimming

Mason loves spraying me with the water gun

These two are so cute together
Lyza's hair was getting a little out of control
 That looks much better
Another of the kids' goals for the summer was to learn how to use a hot glue gun. Mission accomplished!
 Exercising with Mamma

Kim took the kids to a library activity where they each got a book. When it was time to leave she had trouble getting their attention ;)
I am not sure how he can get so messy

I became a partner at work in April and because of busy summer schedules it took a while to have the celebration dinner. That happened on July 26th. We had a dinner at the Red House at the Hayden Lake Country Club. It was a really fun night.

Kim and I had a great time together
I also got this pretty new watch
The kids found a big grasshopper in the backyard and had to make him a home in a jar
 More humming bird sightings

On a Saturday we all went hiking on Tubbs Hill

We hiked to our favorite little beach for some swimming

The waves are a lot of fun there

It was fun watching people cliff jumping
Trying to float on the drift wood

That is one happy boy
Henry is getting so big and mobile
I love my little hiking partner
Hanging out on a Sunday afternoon in the backyard
 Cute!
Henry turned 11 months old! Time is moving too fast. We used to have a baby...

 He will not sit still!

This just melts my heart! These two are so adorable together!

Words cannot express how much we love this boy!
One morning I set the tripod and camera up as soon as I woke up and filmed our humming bird feeder. In an hour and a half we had several hummingbirds visit the feeder
Our neighbor rented a little excavator to do some work in this backyard and the kids (and maybe grownups too) have been fascinated with it

Hanging out in the backyard for family home evening

Have I mentioned how cute these two are together?

The kids also got to sit in the excavator

Playing at the park and splash park

We got kayaks for the kids. These are going to be so much fun!
Well, that was the rest of our July. Now to catch up on August...
Take care
