When it was time to leave Edmonton we got some screamers and hit the road
We drove down to Red Lodge Provincial Campground and the campground was HORRIBLE! To be fair, the campground might have been nice IF the mosquitoes weren't so bad. But don't take my word for it. Check out a Goolgle review left for the same timeframe we were at the campground
Now enough about the unbearable mosquitoes, we at least got to see some family and eat some delicious food the first night
The kids did some crafts with the camp hosts the next morning
To preserve our blood we decided to go to a nearby lake for the second day. That was a good decision and we had lots of fun.
The kids loved playing on the beach and making big mud puddles (more of that later)
We got to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Bullock
And we floated and played in the water
But mostly the kids did this...
They look like caribous wallowing in the mud
Throwback to my mission
But they would go back in the water periodically
Kevin paddle boarding with his girls
Floating with mom
We had our dinner at the beach
Playing some games
The kids just kept playing
Here is a video of the fun
The next day we ended out playing at a slash park with just our family
And we had lunch at the park
Look at all those mosquito bites
We all met up for dinner at another park later in the day
And played some games
The sky was beautiful
Then we got ready for some group pictures
Here we are
Most of the grandkids. Just Sydney is missing.
What a cute family
Favorite grandchild? That would be wrong to say...
And the in-laws
Couples
The next morning after we were all packed up Mason got to open a birthday gift

We went camping at our friends' cabin with several families

Cooking breakfast
Nixon playing in the water
Feeding the kids
There was a treasure hunt for the kids
They were excited to come back with a treasure chest
The morning was abruptly halted when Nixon cut his head open on a 4-wheeler
We packed up and drove home. Got some medical advice from a doctor and a nurse, and purchased some supplies to get the skin held together to heal (butterfly Band-Aids and some glue)
It was a crappy way to finish an otherwise good trip. Nixon has healed up fine.
Take care and remember to properly supervise children on 4-wheelers and wear helmets ;)
Looks like you had a very fun-filled July! Enjoying the recaps of your adventures.
