Our Elf Arrives

I mentioned in the last blog that we had a good Thanksgiving. However, there was no apple pie!? Kim made a cranberry apple pie shortly after and it was DELICIOUS

Henry and Little Lincoln (Kim watches him once a week)

The morning after our first huge snowfall Kim said she thought she saw a deer run behind a bush accros the street. I didn't believe her. She went out to prove me wrong.

Sure enough she startled a poor little deer trying to dig up apples under the snow. Good job!

Here is Nixon playing outside at his friend Gus' house

Card games for preschool? Sounds awesome.

With the arrival of December we resumed our Christmas book tradition where the kids open a book (sometime more than one) each day

Our elf Figgie also returned. Henry had to show him his book ;)

Lyza's special chorus (choir) sang at City Hall (not pictured) and after the kids got to see Santa

This is Lyza in her element

There have been lots of Christmas books

I noticed a Northern Flicker digging in our tree

Christmas puzzles!

A few days after the big snowfall we visited the local sledding hill

The moon was very visible in the middle of the afternoon

We had lots of fun

We went to a Nativities Around the World even last weekend

I have been taking a lot more walks to combat sitting all day for work and Nixon often goes walking with me

We saw the moose on this outing

Nixon's class built a snow sculpture one day

We made gingerbread (actually graham cracker) houses

The sun has been a little shy lately but this particular morning we had a beautiful sunrise

Lyza and Nixon took Kim to Red Robin for dinner with the gift card Nixon won at Halloween Bingo

Then they got to go to the CDA library and had the best time

Mason was surprised to wake up with Figgie taped to the ceiling above his head. Henry was stumped on how Figgie managed to put the roll of tape back.

We played some Christmas Bingo together this week

Then we did some Christmas memory

We love when Nixon will read to his little brothers

We woke up to lots more snow yesterday so the kids played on the snow piles in the front yard

And we made snow men

We had our ward Christmas party last night

Lyza's class played some songs on the chimes

Santa was also there

Henry wanted a candy cane but didn't want to see Santa again

He made it through somehow

We hope you have a great week
