Nixon's 9th Birthday!

Lyza bought a Dungeons and Dragons set and got to use it with some friends on Presidents' Day

Family Home Evening reading from a book together

Nixon and I started a pinewood derby car together this week

It is going to need a lot of sanding, some weights, wheels, and paint

I got a slim foldable treadmill to go with my desk. It is a little weird walking while working at first but I think I am getting the hang of it. It is nice to get steps in while I am chained to my desk ;)

Henry got some mail this week from his primary teacher

It was a thank you card for the Valentine's gift he gave her last week

Nixon turned 9 this week
He had acai bowls and muffins for breakfast

Henry and his primary teacher made Nixon this card

After school, excited for gifts

After the gifts he got tackled with love

Nixon asked for banana splits for dinner

Happy Birthday Nixon

The next day Nixon got to go skiing with Kim and some friends for his birthday

They went to Lookout Pass (on the Idaho-Montana border) and they had a beautiful day

Here's a video of the skiing fun

Nixon had a great basketball game yesterday. He had a great basket (I missed recording it of course), worked really hard on defense, and had some great assists

After the game Nixon and I had lunch a Red Robin's to celebrate our February birthdays

That is one happy boy!

Let's finish off with a video of Henry eating his "Tiger Macaroni." This video might not be for everyone, but I think the subject is incredibly cute!

We leave for Hawaii this week so there won't be a blog next week.

Take care

15 Wonderful Years! Lyza's First Visit to the Temple

Lyza was asked to share an essay she wrote at a meeting with the School Board

Mason made these for each kid in his class for Valentine's Day

As part of our family home evening Mason shared a book he wrote and illustrated

Nixon's Valentine's box

Testing it out

Henry helped dip some strawberries for Valentine's Day

I think he also made sure they tasted good

These went to his primary teacher

Kim prepared a wonderful Valentine's Dinner and we invited the sister missionaries over for dinner

Heart shaped break sticks

Jell-O cups

Pasta with heart shaped cheese?

If you ever wonder how you can improve your video gaming, consider standing on the couch and involving your core a little more

Snorkels for Hawaii arrived so I had to fill the kitchen sink and try them out

Kim and I celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary this week. There was a beautiful sun set that evening

We went out for a nice dinner together. After dinner I got pulled over. My knee bumped the headlight button and I was driving without headlights. The officer was nice about it.

Yesterday morning we took Lyza to the temple for the first time

We went with a group from our ward, two of the other kids are in Lyza's class. One was also there for his first time and the other had been there twice before.

It was a wonderful experience for all of us. I got to baptize Lyza. We also had family names so it was really cool knowing we were helping our ancestors. Lyza had a great experience.

Yesterday afternoon Lyza attended a stake youth indexing activity

I took the boys down to the river to get some energy out

Mason was so proud that he found this large branch. Almost like a dog bringing a stick back to his owner ;)

Henry read his first book yesterday.

He was very proud of himself and he was celebrated by everyone,

Take care and have a great week
