Henry had his 5th birthday two weeks ago. He had donuts for breakfast.
And a smoothie
Then he got to open up some presents
Lyza started her first day of school that morning at Coeur d'Alene Charter Academy in the 6th grade
Henry had fun using his new stuff that morning
And for lunch he chose to go to Burger King
After dinner we all went to Chuck E Cheese
This Ninja Turtles game was his favorite
Then it was time for chocolate birthday cake
He had a fun birthday
The next evening Henry fell backwards into a speaker while he and Nixon were playing and cut the back of his head open. That meant an evening visit to the pediatrician's office to glue him back together
Luckily we didn't have to go to the ER
The next evening Kim and I did a hike together at Canfield Mountain
Kim ordered a box of green beans and canned them
We have lots of apples on our trees
Lyza chose to play clarinet and has been working really hard at it
We had a fun family home evening lesson last week that turned into us trying to make a human pyramid with our family
Kim and her friend Jamie Sue have been running up a storm
These boys love playing games
For Labor Day weekend we drove to Tie Lake, B.C. (30 minutes past Cranbrook) to visit our friends' at their cabin
It is a very beautiful area and it was fun exploring with the drone
Here is some drone footage of the lake
Nixon loved riding this little motor bike
We did some swimming and Henry got to wear his swim cap because of his glued up head
We did some boating, which included Nixon learning how to wake board!
Lyza can read anywhere
Nixon had a lot of fun with his friend Westin
We also did some tubing
A couple more drone photos
I never made it into the hot tub but Mason made himself at home
Showing the boys how to fly the drone
Like I said before, these two were attached at the hip
This is Lyza with Kinley. Kinley is older than Lyza, which you wouldn't guess from the picture (the fact that she is standing in a hole doesn't help either)
Playing at the beach
What a beauty
Kim showed us how it is done on a wakeboard
Sunday morning we had a visitor
Playing some chess
And darts
The kids had lots of fun together
Here is a video of the trip
The next day was the first day of elementary school for the boys
Nixon started 4th grade
Henry started Kindergarten
And Mason started 2nd grade
Nixon started a basketball camp (of sorts) for ages 9 to 13 and he was the only 4th grader there. He will learn a lot.
Look how big Henry's backpack is ;)
Kim is getting in as many miles hiking as she can
Yesterday we went to Silverwood as a family to use up our last passes for the season
Mason tried this ride (Krazy Koaster) for the first time and loved it
We did the big train ride and saw the bison
I always love riding the train with Henry
And riding Corkscrew with Nixon
Ice cream to finish off the day
Have a great week!
Glad that Henry had a happy birthday. Can't believe he is 5 already!
ReplyDeleteHope school is going well for everyone! Kim, I hope you're enjoying some time for you. Looks like a fun time at the lake!
