End of the School Year, Father's Day, and Let the Birthday Celebrations Begin!

On Kim's last day of helping in Henry's class she got really cute cards from all the kids and a potted flower as a thank you

Kim took Lyza out for pie to celebrate the end of school for her

This is Henry during Ponderosa's field day

Some video from field day

Mason thought it was funny to wrap the swing up (making it shorter) and still swing on it

Lyza had a group of friends over the evening of the last day of school to celebrate

They played a little badminton

They played games together

Henry decided to lose his first tooth that evening

The girls walked down to the beach park

Lyza made a good group of friends this year

It was a beautiful evening

The girls enjoyed conga lines

The next morning I cleaned the church with mason and Henry

And they got donuts after

We played at the beach that afternoon

Pretty butterfly

We celebrated Father's Day a week early because the following week we were leaving for Oregon. This is the family picture we got on Father's Day

And me with my beautiful children

I got some wonderful gifts

That included a scavenger hunt...

Where I found Ninja Creami pints in the freezer

I have been wanting one of these for a while and it is wonderful

That evening we went to another family's home and Lyza found a cicada

They also found a frog

Nixon got to play with a tractor

This was a big rock that Mason conquered

Henry got these sunglasses from his teacher and he really likes them

I got to take some pictures of Mason to use for his baptismal invitation

The boys had their last day of school. Nixon finished 4th, Mason finished 2nd, and Henry finished kindergarten

Lyza finished a few days earlier but her picture was delayed

Lyza and Nixon both had Mrs. Reed as a teacher. This was her last year of teaching and now she is retired.

This is Henry with Mrs. Bixby.

Henry got an award for having the highest score on i-Ready

Lyza and Nixon's favorite teacher retired this year so the kids (and some other kids in our neighborhood) made some signs to put in her lawn on the last day of school. Her name is Mrs. Reed (Lyza isn't really that bad at spelling ;)

We all went to the beach that afternoon

Nixon and Mason's primary activity was building tool boxes for their dad...I got to help them, surprise!

Mason helped make the cake for his friend party (which we had early because we were in Oregon on his birthday)

We had Mason's party at a new (to us) indoor play place in Spokane Valley

He had a fun crew

They had lots of fun. Then we came home to eat. Mason chose hot dogs and burgers.

He loved opening presents

And then they did a pinata that Mason made himself

And then it was time for his cake

It was hard to do his candles because of the wind

He had a fun party

Kim took the kids to Manito Park one day for a RS activity

They saw a heron

These are so cool

Eating lunch together

They also played at a park there

Krispy Creme gave the kids a donut for each A they got on their report cards. There were lots of donuts!

Henry helped Kim make some breakfast cookies

Kim tried to convince Mason that we should bring this rain jacket to Oregon for him. He wasn't having it!

Our neighbor showed off his agate collection and taught Kim and the kids how to find them on Oregon beaches

Mason got to open a few birthday gifts before we left for Oregon

What a cool dude

He made this with instructions from the new book he got

Nixon helped Kim make some overnight oats for our breakfast for the morning we left for Oregon

Next up: The Keyes Great Oregon Adventure 2024. Stay tuned!

  1. Tons of fun stuff! Nice that you had a good celebration for Father's Day and Mason's Birthday before your trip.
