4th of July, Hannah's Wedding, Girls Camp, Mason's Baptism, Silverwood, Frozen, and Priest Lake: Buckle Up!

Let's start off light with a couple pictures at the park

There is something so precious about seeing our little boy growing up to enjoy reading

We kept with tradition and for the 4th of July attended our friends' annual party at their homes. Henry got some good rides on the zip line

Kim got to spend time with friends

The kids got to play with fire

Lyza read (no surprise there, right?)

Both of these boys won guessing jars full of candy

We got to blow up some things I got from a Christmas white elephant party last year

These was a lot going on

And the fireworks show was really good

The next morning we left early to drive to Edmonton for Hannah and Christian's wedding. We got stopped in traffic along the Crowsnest Pass for a long time and eventually got to a point where we could detour. It was a long drive on very unsuitable back roads, but we made it.

When we made it to Edmonton Peter was there to greet us and we were wearing the same shirt. Twins?

We played at the park a little that evening

The next morning was the big day at the temple

Patiently waiting for the bride and groom to arrive

These two are stunning

The weather cooperated pretty well for pictures. This is all the living Keyes siblings.

It was nice to see my mom

And my dad

These 4 have so much fun together

What a beautiful bride

After the wedding we hung out at Simon and Rachel's/my parents' house

Lyza getting to know her cousin

Henry and I had fun playing a plumber game

That evening there was a reception with delicious food

Christian's tie was missing until the photographer gave it to me to return to him. Of course I had to make a scene so I put my suit coat on inside out (a la Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) and put the tie around my head and took it over to Christian.

Jason and Nixon had a shift manning the guest book

As did Megan and Lyza

Isn't Henry's signature in the guest book adorable?

Speaking of adorable...

The boys liked the punch

As we left we were treated to a beautiful sunset

We also had to get some Slurpees on the way home

The next day (Monday) Kim needed to head up to Camp Peine for Stake Girls Camp to set up. She got to pull some canoes up there too.

Kim took the kids to help her set up camp, which meant some real muscle unloading

The first day Kim and Lyza were at camp I took the boys for school lunch

They were having fun at camp

I pulled out TWO of Henry's teeth

More fun at camp

That evening Grandma and Grandpa Bullock arrived to help me with the kids

Henry was up early the next morning with Grandpa

Lyza got to do archery at camp

The men playing some games

Lyza and her fellow campers at the ward's camp spot. It was incredibly hot so this huge shade tent came in handy.

Grandma helped Mason with some crafting

Kim wasn't always with Lyza but I have a feeling she was always looking out for her

Lyza got to paddle board with her friend, Jane

Those of us in Post Falls decided to get some water time of our own

There were lots of smiles at the beach

Kim was also playing in the water at camp

Grandpa towed some kids behind the kayak

Lyza and her friend getting some grub

Henry got to read to Grandma

And do some dishes with her

Kim was given this candy necklace

Lyza doing some service at camp

Another day down at the beach

I picked up dinner and brought it down to the beach

Kim and Lyza got home Friday night and the next morning we had Mason's baptism

Lyza and Nixon both spoke and it was a really nice service. The first time I put Mason under his foot came up so we had to do it a second time. When we were in the change room after Mason said to me "I am glad we had to do it a second time because it felt so good."

After we came home and celebrated with Panda Express

Mason also got some big kisses from Grandma and Grandpa

Lyza got a personalized quilt from Grandma

Mason got to open up a few gifts

And Grandpa got a late Father's Day gift

We went down to the beach in the evening and ate pizza for dinner

Henry was been practicing his swimming

We had some delicious ribs for dinner on Sunday

And played some yard games together in the evening

Kim and her friend on an early morning run

Mason enjoyed making these mud sculptures at the beach one day. What do you think they look like? ;)

The two big boys participated in a Nerf gun battle at the library

Henry enjoying a new game

There was sidewalk chalk outside of the grocery store one day so the kids got artistic

Nixon has been practicing cooking his own eggs

He also saw a video where you dip fruits in a boiling syrup that then hardens over the fruit. We tried it out and weren't that impressed

Lyza's ant colony is thriving

We had our summer Silverwood day

Nixon and I rode Corkscrew several times

Pizza and the magic show was a nice break

The log ride

The little train

Mason and I waited in line forever for these water car things

And we both got SOAKED!

The three of us rode this ride a couple of time

Henry was VERY vocal

Kim and Nixon got to ride Stunt Pilot

Nixon really enjoyed it

But the most enjoyable part may have been the ice cream at the end of the night

Nixon got to drive this old school car

Mason does this from time to time with his big teddy bear

Kim went huckleberry picking with Lyza and Nixon and some friends

The result was DELICIOUS

Kim took the boys cliff jumping with some friends and they had a great time

Henry even jumped

Henry has been quite the thrill seeker recently

We surprised the kids by taking them to see the Frozen musical in Spokane

We played at the park before the show started

There was a fire nearby

Excited for the show

Checking out the orchestra warming up before the show

The show was REALLY fun

Then next day Henry gave his first talk in primary

He also got his birthday treat

Mason also gave a talk

Kim and the kids have been blueberry picking

So big and delicious

The boys playing with some friends in the back yard

A snail Kim found on the sidewalk

Lyza's ants and larvae

Feeding the ants some honey

I snuck this picture of Kim while she was doing a Zoom interview

We had our annual friend camping trip to Priest Lake. Here is the truck all loaded up and ready to go

Checking out our camp site

We made hamburgers the first night and the wasps were really bad. So after that we set up our mesh screen all around our shade canopy and it worked really well

Our site all set up

A gang of kids

Henry helping to make breakfast

My favorite camper

Huckleberry pancakes, yum!

Getting my snorkeling on

The kids had lots of fun playing on the dock

And getting pulled behind the jet ski

And getting buried in the sand

Henry loved the jet ski rides

Some of our group

We stayed at a new campground this year, Lionhead, which is North of the one we usually stay at (Indian Creek)

Some of the camp sites are right next to the beach (ours wasn't)

I did a long paddle board ride

We played lots of volleyball

You won't be surprised to hear that Lyza did lots of reading :)

We did an outdoor movie

All cozy in bed the next morning

Cooking up some breakfast

More time playing at the beach

Our friends got to call their son on his mission

Kim and Henry took a long paddle board trip

Henry working on his swimming

Kim with some of her friends

We started a camp fire so we could roast hot dogs for dinner

Lyza taught the other kids her camp songs that she learned earlier in the summer at her school overnight trip

We had the other families join us for s'mores

Henry and his BFF, Quincey

Good thing we weren't photo-bombed

Henry knows how to have a good time

She is in heaven

Some more volleyball

We took a group photo, this one doesn't have everyone...

This has most, if not everyone

They boys were so tired that night

Warming up by the fire the next morning

Henry helping with breakfast again

What a blast. More to come as I try and catch up on our summer adventures.
