Goodbye Summer

Nixon has been working hard at his diablo

Kim and I went for our first bike ride of the year together on Labor Day

We took the kids to the lake that day to play for the last day of summer

They had fun tubing

And knee boarding

The next day school started for the boy. Henry's first day of 1st Grade

Mason's first day of 3rd Grade

Nixon's first day of 5th Grade

Ready for their first day

Waiting for the bus

Kim took the boys to get some yummy drinks at the local coffee stand after school on Friday

Saturday Kim, Henry, and I went in to the office to put together this piece of furniture and hang some stuff on the walls

My office is all set up now

That afternoon Nixon and Mason were invited to play in the water at a friend's house so we all (except for Lyza) joined in

That evening I got to go sailing for the first time

Here I am at the marina

And on the sail boat. It was a really fun experience.

We are back into piano lessons

Henry came to our young men's activity this week and got to try shooting a bow and arrow

He looks like a natural

Kim has been busy at work trying to find her stride

Kim and Nixon made some Eat Mores and they are delicious

We had a hot dog roast Friday night

Complete with s'mores

Henry and Nixon had their first soccer games of the season on Saturday

Henry's team dominated so he was happy to run around and cheer everyone on

Henry also got to contribute at times

Nixon's team didn't have it so easy and he worked his butt off

Henry enjoyed this new swing set after his game

Last night after our adult session of stake conference Kim and I went out for dessert with some friends and had a fun time

We are enjoying a different and slower pace with everyone back in school and the excitement of summer over with.
Take care

  1. I hope your kids are enjoying their new school year so far. I hope Kim's new job is going well. Glad that Henry had a Happy Birthday! Sad that summer is over. It always goes by too quickly.
