We Love Summer!

This is Lyza at a bouncy house in CDA full of Astro Jumps that is free for kids under 2 years old

We bought Lyza a little table and chair set and she loved to help put it together
Lyza wearing her helmet during one of her diaper changes
Lyza and I helped momma clean off the spatula after making an amazing desert
Lyza wearing Grandpa's hat
We took Grandma and Grandpa hiking at Tubbs hill, one of the fun hikes right in CDA

Tubbs Hill is right on the lake so as you hike you hike around the lake and get some amazing views
Lyza with a little yellow flower in her hair

Mealtime with Lyza is a blast
 She loves the splash park

 4th of July piggies!

Sharing her chair with Pooh Bear
 Beautiful dress

Lyza loves playing at the beach. It is awesome living so close to the water
 Cool sunglasses...Mom's are OK too
Trying on the cowboy boots and skirt for Kevin and Amanda's wedding in September. At first she couldn't walk in the boots, but after a few minutes she wouldn't take them off

On the 4th of July we biked the Hiawatha trail! The Hiawatha is an old railroad between Idaho and Montana with lots of tunnels and amazing scenery that is now used as a bike trail. It was a lot of fun. Beautiful views and perfect weather made for a very fun day. Of course Lyza loved being in the bike seat and wearing her helmet. She also enjoyed the tunnels, even the 1.66 mile tunnel that was pitch black, cold, and wet.

 Having some lunch

Looking down from one of the many bridges

What it was like riding in the dark tunnels
Lyza would not stop drinking from our hydration pouch
The long tunnel was really wet and muddy
It was so cold in the long tunnel and so hot outside that the cool air was visible from the outside

After the bike ride we went to the lake and watched the fireworks. There were a lot of people and the city park was all set up festival style with lots of food to buy. Lyza had a lot of fun walking around and talking to people

The lake is full with boats with people out floating and watching the fireworks
It was a really good show. Lyza really liked it and wasn't scared at all. She kept saying "work, work" and clapping. She also started out calling the fireworks pretty flowers
Lyza loves slides! Kim made this one in the house and it kept Lyza entertained for awhile

We went to the beach again yesterday and Lyza loved sitting in this floating chair. We brought it to Seattle with us and tried to get her to use it in the pool but she freaked out. Yesterday she freaked out when we tried to get her out of it. She is funny
That's it for now. Hope you are enjoying your summer!

Summer and Father's Day

We have really been enjoying the nice weather so far this summer. We took Lyza down to the river to feed the ducks and she thought it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately she doesn't quite understand that there is a difference between playing by the water and playing in the water so we had to constantly hold her hand to keep her out.

A couple of days later Kim took Lyza to the beach to play in the water and she had a great time.

One night we flew a kite and went to the park.
Kim saw online that you can make play dough with flour and dish soap - it didn't work but Lyza liked to stir it around anyway.
One of Lyza's favorite activities is to play with a container of uncooked rice with different little toys and things hidden in it.

She also loves to stand at the sink and play with water.
For Father's Day weekend we were in Moscow while Kim was on-call. Overall she got called in quite a bit but never in the middle of the night and usually at very convenient times (i.e. when both Lyza and I were napping :)
On Saturday morning we went to the farmers' market, which is always enjoyable.

The girls spoiled me this weekend and we had a lot of fun together.

Lyza has become addicted to blueberries! This was one of the rare moments that she wasn't stuffing hands full of berries into her mouth.
I got some fun gifts but the one I love the most is this adorable card that Kim and Lyza made for me!
And one of the biggest surprises of the weekend is when Lyza sang I'm so glad when daddy comes home to me on Sunday morning. I had no idea she knew that song. She has an amazing mother!

Here is a video of Lyza and I playing. She is a lot of fun.

Kim and Lyza's secret photoshoot produced some really cute pictures. This is one of my favorites!
Take care!

I have been enjoying being at home with my little girl after working so much over the past few months. She is at such a fun age right now and we have a lot of fun together.
Playing in the tunnel we made.
Lyza helping Daddy build a little fence on our patio.

Playing with her new water table.
Last weekend Lyza was sick for a few days. After taking her temperature a few times she found the thermometer and was trying to do it herself.
Going for a walk. This nice trail is right behind our apartment building.
Went to the library last week. Grandpa Bullock would be happy with the first book that Lyza picked out to read :)
We have had a TERRIBLE oven in Moscow for the past 2 years. It is impossible to bake anything in it. I was very excited to bake something at our new place and have them turn out how they were suppose to! I love baking.
Excited to wear her new "hat"
First time out with Lyza's new bike seat. We went for a ride to a park and then down to the beach. You can't tell from the picture but Lyza thought it was pretty great.
Checking out the big moose. There are several of these mooses throughout Coeur d'Alene

Reading books with Daddy at the library.
Playing with her new finger puppets.
