Good-bye Halloween and Hello Pre-Thanksgiving

Here is Lyza in a pretty red dress last Sunday
Mason proud of another one of his construction projects
Not my first choice of seating
Kim helped the kids clean out the pumpkins
Mason warmed up to the idea and actually liked it

Nixon loved it
 Lyza, not so much
We carved and painted that evening as a family

And also did some Halloween crafts

 The spooky results

 Is that a bubble goatee?
Nixon and his BFF picking Lyza up from the bus
Nixon got to vacuum all by himself
 Henry is 2 months old!
Here is an interview with him ;)
On Halloween the kids went to iHop for pancakes

And the boys got to play together
That is one interesting costume Nixon
That looks like a peacock ready to trick or treat
The spookiest house award goes to...(the house two doors down from us)
Who could say no to them?

 Counting their bounty
 Good morning Henry
Henry is basically a celebrity in the mornings. The bigger kids are so excited to see him
Lyza didn't have school on Friday so Kim made sure there were lots of fun activities for the kids

 I guess Mason's tummy wasn't feeling well
Then he fell asleep in that chair
Nixon was excited to try a sour warhead candy. This is what happened
We finally assembled this t-rex from Grandma and Grandpa Keyes
Saturday morning Lyza had a book set up upside down and was looking at it like this and amazed that it made the book look the right way
After cleaning the church I took the big boys to Home Depot to build helicopters

 The finished product
I think this Google automatic creation is pretty funny. What is Google trying to say?
Some serious playing with these three
Yesterday I got up on the roof to clean off pine needles, clean out the gutters, and hang up the Christmas lights
Here is a view of the backyard
This is what it looked like our first fall in the house
Mason was so tired yesterday afternoon that while we were making dinner we noticed he was being awfully quiet, which usually means he is getting into trouble. Instead, we found him passed out on the floor

Take care

It's Getting Spooky

Another time Mason passed out on a day where he didn't nap
We have had weeks with lots of little gnats everywhere making it impossible to enjoy being outside
Those gnats are gone now and we can enjoy the beautiful fall colors
And throwing rocks in the river
A couple Sundays ago it seemed like it was never going to be bed time. Kim had the great idea to give the kids glow sticks and turn out the lights. They were entertained for over an hour. It was such a good idea

 They fell asleep really easily
Lyza has caught the bug from Mason and has been really enjoying playing with magnatiles
These boys got to watch this excavator working down by our park

Cute boy with a serious face
This baby is way too big for that chair
 Isn't he cute?
Mason has his own box of crayons since he likes to rip all the paper off and break them. But it keeps him busy
 Halloween craft with Mom
 Making bread with Mom
Nixon got some 1-on-1 time with his mom and chose to do perler beads
 "I made it!"

Ignore his bib, it does not reflect the opinions of this writer
Lyza getting her hair transformed into peacock mode
Here is Lyza in her school's costume parade
The kids in their costume about to trick or treat at my office

Mason just grabbed handfuls of candy and no one would stop him (we couldn't) because he is so cute

After that we went to a carnival at Lyza's school. There were different games in each room and prizes to be won. This is an angry birds game

 Fishing
Mason can't wait to fish with his Grandpa Bullock. Watch out!
Shooting targets with a nerf bow
Mason was obsessed with this dinosaur costume but would be terrified any time it would turn toward him
Mason proud of another one of his creations
Lyza getting some make up before our ward harvest party
 So beautiful

 Our webslinger
Six boxes of mac 'n cheese for the pot luck
 Yummy

There were activities and crafts for the kids
 Mason made a necklace
Nixon was so excited to have a spider painted on his face
The cutest puppy in the building
The next morning Nixon came up with this costume
Henry was also still in costume
Last Sunday morning we had a big hairy visitor

He spent quite a while eating our bush

He wasn't even scared when a truck had to pass
That's all for now. Next up, some more Halloween fun
Take care
