Baby Shower

My friend Whitney is having a baby in June so last week I had a baby shower for her at our house. One of her favorite treats are the caramel apples that we made in relief society this year so I made up a batch of them for the party and they turned our pretty good!
This is the diaper cake I made for her. I saved all of the rolled up diapers from the cake at my shower. It sure saved me a lot of time!
Everything all set up just waiting for the guests to arrive.
This is one of my friends that helped me throw the shower. Her little girl is just 3 weeks behind Lyza.
 The food table
At Lyza's four month appointment the doctor told us that we are good to start introducing food to Lyza. We started her off with some rice cereal. This next picture pretty much sums up her thoughts on the experience :)
By the next day she had warmed up to the idea and suddenly couldn't get enough of the stuff. She never wanted me to take the spoon out of her mouth.
On Thursday we drove to Coeur D'alene to look for a place for the summer. We had only found 2 places to look at because it is so hard to find anyone that will do month to month lease. Once we got there we found out that one of the places we were suppose to look at had been rented out that morning so we only had 1 option. Luckily for us we were happy with our one option and we put down a deposit. We will be living in a little 2 bedroom apartment that it a 10 minute walk from Daniel's work! The apartment buildings are set up in the outline of a square and in the middle is a cute little courtyard with nice big trees and flowers. There is even a little patio with a grill that we can use. It will be nice to have a little outdoor area we can enjoy. It is such a relief to know where we will be living! Now we just need to move everything.
After we finished out paperwork we met up with Kevin at Cafe Rio for some dinner. Lyza had a lot of fun playing with her Uncle Kevin. We hung out there for a couple of hours and then came home.

Daniel had his last class as a first year law student yesterday! woohoo! He has 4 exams over the next 2 weeks and then has a week off before he starts his job. May will be a crazy and exciting month for us!

4 months!

Last week Lyza turned 4 months old. I can't believe how quickly the time has gone by and how BIG she is getting. After I took her 4 month photo I had to look back at her photo from 1 month to see how much she has changed.

At her 4 month checkup she weighed a whopping 12 lbs 1 oz and is 24 inches tall.
She is starting to get a little pudge in her cheeks and I love it!
Below is a picture of Daddy and Lyza ready to go outside on a walk.
Last Friday we went to Lewiston where I ran in a 5K race. It was my first time ever running in an official race and it was a lot of fun. We had perfect weather that night and it was nice to be outside.
Daddy and Lyza hanging out while I was running.
 Half way done!
 Crossing the finish line.
Happy to see my little girl again.
Lyza being silly on her change pad.
Looking so happy in her summery dress from Grandma!
I like this last picture because she is holding her feet like a little ballerina. I think we might have a blossoming dancer on our hands. She loves to listen to music and is always moving!

We have been enjoying the nice weather down here and try to get outside as much as we can. Last week we found out that Daniel was offered an internship with a law firm in Coeur d'Alene that we are very excited about! He has a few more weeks of school and exams and then we will be packing up to move!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter weekend. My parents came down for the weekend to spend some time with us. We had a lot of fun visiting, shopping, playing with Lyza and we even got to enjoy some turkey despite the fact that our oven broke the night before we were going to cook it. I was very happy to find out that the church had a portable electric oven we could use. It was just too bad I couldn't finish cooking my pies in it!
So far I think Lyza is a fan of Easter. Here she is Easter morning (bed head and all) so excited for her Easter basket!
We had to hold her hands down to get a picture because all she wanted to do was eat her Easter bib from Grandma.

All ready for church with Grandma and Grandpa.

Easter Sunday was a beautiful day and we all enjoyed a nice walk down in the Arboretum.

This goose even came all the way from Canada to spend Easter with us....how nice :)
Having fun with her new bunny.
We decided that it was time to pull out the exersaucer from Wes and Joanne. Lyza thought that it was pretty fun.

She had a hard time deciding which part of it she should eat first and decided that the flowers would be the best option.....if only she could open her mouth just a little more!
Lyza is also still fascinated with her feet and is pleased with the discovery that this is yet another thing that she can put into her mouth.
Whenever I am changing Lyza on her change table she is constantly trying to roll over and look at what is behind her head. So the other night I flipped her over on her tummy to figure out what she was so interested in and it turns out she just wanted a better look at Pooh.
She had so much fun checking out the Pooh and Tigger on her wipes container.
Have I mentioned that this girl likes to put everything in her mouth? Well she does! And it is so much more convenient now that she can hold onto her toys. These keys have been her favorite toy to play with.
Here is Daniel at school after his oral argument. Lyza and I went to cheer him on and he did a great job! His professor was really digging for some kind of feedback to give him and had to settle on telling him to wear a light colored shirt next time. Way to go Daniel!
I had some time this week to do a craft and made this wreath for our front door. Hopefully it will make people feel welcome!
I made this scarf at a Relief Society class last week. It was so easy to make and I am excited to make another one! I love scarves!

Lyza has been testing out her volume lately :) and when she isn't yelling she reverts to some dialect of African tongue clicking.
