One more week to the new house

We put this picture on Facebook this week but I wanted to share it again because Lyza is so cute. She gets really excited when she has her Elsa hair, or Princess Anna hair, or whatever theme her hair is
This guy was excited to get a card and present in the mail from his auntie Hannah. Thanks Hannah!
On Monday Dairy Queen had free ice cream cones. Of course we made a family home evening out of it
Lyza had an activity at the library on St. Patrick's day. The theme was frogs (because they are green). She loved wearing this hat that she made

She even had some fun frog dancing to show off
Yesterday morning Kim had both kids in bed with her and for a couple of minutes they were both happy and cuddly. It didn't last very long, but she enjoyed it
Nixon is quite adventurous at the park
Lyza has been keeping her hands in the air while going down the slide, as if she is on a roller coaster. Pretty wild ride!

Last night we went out for a date night! That doesn't happen too often. The restaurant had a pond/river running through it with lots of fish and turtles swimming around. It was nice to have a quiet and relaxing meal together. My fortune cookie had an inappropriate fortune in it for someone on a date with his wife. "You will make many changes before settling down happily."  Not true. I am already happy. Maybe it is just speaking about our move this coming week?
Nixon is getting the hang of using a hammer
He is not quite so patient when it comes to puzzles
I think Lyza might grow up to be a game show host
She is pretty good at teaching her brother how to sneeze. Too bad she gets so rough at the end
Here is some behind-the-scenes footage of me working on the blog today. Not the most glamorous working conditions...
We took the kids to a community Easter egg hunt today. Nixon liked playing peek-a-boo with his bucket

Lyza collected eggs like a champ
Nixon picked up the first one he saw then just walked around with it and observed the madness

They both had their own kind of fun
Can never have enough fun with Play-Doh mustaches

Daily visits to the doctor's office

Sometimes when Lyza goes shopping she falls asleep in the cart
She can give nice snuggles to her brother
These two are getting excited to pack up and move
What a nice thrift store sombrero
Lyza got to play at the park with sand. She could play in the sand all day. We might have to put a sandbox in our backyard

Nixon loves to climb up the slide

Fun times at the park
Last Saturday we all went to the park together. Nixon looked so grown up in his t-shirt and jeans

 Nixon also likes the swing
 Lyza really likes ducks
Nixon wanted to check them out but his mamma wouldn't let him
Nixon thought it was so funny to wear his jacket by just the hood
Here we are roaming the halls together at church last Sunday
You would probably think that Lyza taught Nixon to climb up on the chair, but he did this all by himself and Lyza copied him. He loves to climb everything
Nixon got a nice gift in the mail this week - a personalized puzzle
Lyza had lots of fun talking with her grandma on the phone this week

Here is a little video of her conversation. She probably talked for an hour and a half. She walked around in a circle the entire time. It was really entertaining
Both of our kids got really bad rashes this week. We think they decided to have a competition to see who could get more sick. There were lots of trips to the doctor's office, drug stores, and the medical labs. I think the winner is pretty obvious, but Lyza tried her best.

They are both doing better now. It has been a long week
Lyza has been working on some new dance moves
Here are some more moves
She has also been working on her singing so she can put on the whole show
She has also been practicing her animal sounds
Nixon is definately more brave than Lyza was at this age. He loves to get flipped around and thrown in the air. He also likes to try and climb everything
Despite being so adventurous and macho he is still very affectionate
He also really wants to be able to jump
Next it will be flying
Here is a cute song Lyza came up with
I love coming home from work because I am always greeted by very excited children
Nixon loves to play and have fun
Well, I think that is it for now. If you made it through all this I am proud of you. Take Care

We Bought a Zoo!

**Correction - We Bought a HOUSE. But, once our children are in there it will quickly feel like a zoo.**
It is located in Post Falls, built in 2003 and in the Riverside Harbor neighborhood. It is just a few minutes walk from a private park/playground, picnic area, and beach on the river.
Here is a picture of us at the same beach last year
This is our house. Its a single story "rancher" (bugalow in the Canadian). It has 3 bedrooms, a den, and two living areas.
There is a little bit of a covered front porch
View of the front entrance with formal dining room beside (eventually we will remove the carpet in the dining room and replace it with a hard surface)
This is a view from the dining room looking at the living room
View from the front entrance looking at the living room and toward the kitchen. We love the vaulted ceilings
 Here is the kitchen
Another view of the kitchen showing the eat-in area
Here is the eat-in area where we will set up our massive kitchen table
View of the kitchen from the eat-in area. The white door is a pantry
Here is the family room

View from inside the family room
Here is the hallway leading to the bedrooms
The main bathroom
There is a small den. We will add a door to make this room more useable
Bedroom
Another bedroom
Here is the master bedroom
Master ensuite

Master closet
Off the kitchen there is a door leading to the laundry area, back entrance (to the garage) and a half bath

Half bath is the door to the right and the garage door is on the left
We have a nice big backyard with mature trees. The house sits on a third of an acre
There is a little bit of a patio and a small portion (between the door to the master bedroom and the kitchen) is covered
We are really excited to get into a house with more room. We take possession on the 27th and plan on moving everything in on the 28th.
That's all for now. Take care
