I don't spend enough time in the hammock but when I do I love it
Loving time in the sand box
Lyza helped make a broccoli salad for dinner
Nixon got to go to a birthday party at the roller rink
Boulder Beach with some friends
Kim and Bessie did an early morning run around Tubbs Hill
Raspberry fingers!
All loaded and ready to go to the beach
Lyza reading at the beach
The boys making a water feature
The kids loved playing with this golden doodle puppy
That is quite the project Nixon has going on
Kim and I hiked Canfield Mountain on Saturday morning as a warm up for my Scotchman Peak hike next week
View of the resort and CDA Lake
Here is the view from the top
It was fun hiking just the two of us (even if part of the time Kim had to play "hostage negotiator" and walk Lyza and Nixon through changing Henry's poopy diaper)
View of Hayden Lake through the trees
That afternoon Lyza went to a stake primary activity (and had lots of fun) while Kim and I took the boys to Silverwood
We had lots of fun
What a cute boy
Lyza made this at her activity
Church on Sunday was very entertaining
I got to be part of primary as a mystery dad
I got some pictures with the kiddos after church
We had a delicious brunch
I got to open up some very thoughtful presents
I got a custom made Mandalorian themed card
I got to play some Monopoly Jr.
The kids figured out that the AC unit will suck in balloons when they are low and blow them away when they are high
Mason picked lots of strawberries
And I got spoiled with an amazing dinner (and mango float for dessert that did not get pictured)
One evening Nixon helped make deviled egg, which is one of his favorite dishes
We went for a little family bike ride to Mill River and stopped to play at the beach. Henry was so happy about this stick
I guess he wanted to be like his cool older brother
Brothers
We saw a giant Lyza there
Sometimes being an adult means making things up on the fly and hoping things work out. Like when Lyza and Nixon were fighting about something dumb and I decided we would settle the argument by an arm wrestle
It was fun but probably not fair (Mason would remind me that the fair is where we go to look at pigs)
The next day Kim took Henry and Mason to Silverwood with a couple of their friends
Henry loves the planes
Mason actually drove a car?
This was a pretty big ride for Henry
Henry and his friend
What a site, Mason eating breakfast and reading a book
I think they are primates
This bird got the worm
This is what it looks like when Mason eats a FROZEN corn dog. Why was he doing this? I don't know. I wasn't there and haven't gotten the full story yet. A FROZEN corn dog?!
Lyza got a new bike that she will be able to grow into
Kim and I bought our bed frame a long time ago used on Kijiji so I have no idea how old it is. We have also moved it many times. Henry contributed to its battle damage this week (watch until the end)
(In the video he is saying "I'm a cool dude")
Kim found a caterpillar for the kids in the backyard and Mason helped Henry hold it
This video is SOO cute
Lyza and Nixon had their LAST DAY OF SCHOOL this last week
This was them on the first day of school
Mason has the best smile ;)
There was a family bbq on the last day of school and the kids got to thank their teachers and give them gifts
We celebrated that evening with a pizza party at the park
The boys were perfect angels
This one is sooo cute!
The next morning was a lazy muffin and smoothie breakfast for the kids
I read The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe with the big kids last week
Henry fell asleep on the floor once or twice
Saturday morning Kim went out early in the morning to hike Scotchman Peak, which is the highest peak in Bonner County
It was rainy when they started and cloudy most of the rest of the hike
She saw some interesting flora
She got to see some decent views at times (that is a view of Lake Pend Oreille, Idaho's largest lake and the 4th deepest in the nation, so deep that they do submarine testing in it)
There was snow at the top
In just under 4 miles to the top they gained almost 4000 feet of elevation
This peak is also known for having mountain goats that get right up in your business but the girls didn't see any mountain goats, only their coats on some trees
All that hard work and this is the view they got at the peak...
I guess is wasn't about the view, it was about the experience
This was a cool structure up there
About half an hour on the way down the clouds started to break and they got to see the views
I am supposed to do this hike on the 26th so hopefully the weather will cooperate
While Kim was out hiking I took the kids fishing at Cabela's
They each caught a fish
Later that afternoon we went on a little hike
We hiked in a nature preserve just south of Coeur d'Alene that begins in a wetland and then ends with a view of the lake
This old dozer is fun
Lyza had to examine the spittlebugs
I think I saw the same weird leaf/flower that Kim saw on her hike
He must have got Kim's hiking genes
We made it up to the lookout
Licorice to celebrate
There was a pretty view of the lake and the resort
Henry did the whole hike himself (2.5 miles) and never had any more help than holding someone's hand
