After that trip to Boise we needed to clean the van out and Henry was the man for the job
Henry and flowers from our hydrangea
This may have been the last beach day of the year
Kim and I got to have a date at the temple
Kids in big glasses are the best
Kim took the camera to Nixon's soccer game and got this gem
This is a shot from the drone as it raised above the clouds
General Conference was wonderful
The kids did a library activity where they got to build with these things
Henry got to play with baking soda and vinegar
The kids had their first cross-county race. Mason tried hard and was so cute to watch
Nixon was in the lead his whole race
Then in the final seconds his best friend caught up to him, look at Nixon's face when he realizes
It was a photo finish and they counted it as a tie
Lyza congratulating Nixon
Good job Nixon
Lyza also got to run and did her best
She was glad to be greeted at the finish line by her favorite teacher
Kim got to celebrate one of her friends' birthday at Red Robin
I finally got to go to one of Nixon's soccer games
His ball handling has gotten really good
He works so hard on the field
That afternoon Nixon and I went on a 8 mile bike ride and he got a bacon cheese burger on our date
Nixon and Mason had some fun with Pokémon cards for a few days
We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving with some friends
These boys love to help rake pine needles
Henry was inspired by some of the hair doos he saw at the zoo and thought he would join the fad
There was a second and final race for cross-country. Here is Mason at the start line.
Nixon and his bestie both did well. Nixon got 5th place, which is really good for how many schools there were and he was a little under the weather
This was Kim's week for the preschool coop
Lyza had her final race the next evening and made some impressive improvement over her first race
I took the drone to Nixon's soccer practice and got to capture some of the fall colors
The sunset was beautiful
Lyza got to choose the primary girls activity and chose karaoke
Kim and some friends hiked Scotchman Peak
They didn't see any goats but they did have beautiful weather and great views
I got to go to another of Nixon's soccer games
I missed getting his first goal on film but this is right before he scored
I caught his second (which they erroneously didn't count as a goal) and his third
Congratulating his team mate
Meanwhile Kim was at Mason's game
Kim took the kids to the skate park and they had a blast with their bikes and scooter
Henry has been using his trains a lot
He loves when he can play on the computers at the library
He liked this train at the toy store
Kim took Henry to a farm for preschool and they had so much fun
He got to catch wooden cows with a hula hoop
And feed cows corn
They got to do a tractor ride
And there was a slide
And he got to choose a pumpkin
We went out for dinner as a family to Red Robin and Mason liked playing on these bike racks while we waited
Here is a beautiful sunrise from this week
Our honey crisp tree had the most apples we have ever had since we planted it a few years ago
Crumbl cookies for dessert
We had final soccer games of the season yesterday. Nixon's team played a really good team and Nixon worked his butt off
Mason got to play his friend's team and had a good time
They each got medals from the team sponsor ;)
We have beautiful fall colors around here and hopefully we get more fall before winter hits
The blog is all caught up. Summer was too fun and it has been hard to recover.
Have a great week and take care.
