After a week alone my beard was making a comeback (but I had to shave it off on Monday for court)
The kids really enjoyed the cats in Welling
Lyza lost another tooth
The boys rode bikes with Grandpa
Mason found a big spider
Getting crafty
The kids got to play at the splash park
And then it was time for some bowling
Followed by Slurpees
What color do you think his Slurpee was?
Here is a photo I took with the drone of the river near our house
The kids got to visit the temple grounds of the Cardston, Alberta Temple
and the visitor's center
After the temple they went to Waterton
Lyza was so unhappy
Nixon practiced his wildlife photography
They did some hiking
Which exhausted Lyza
But the views were worth it
The view from Bear's Hump
Then they swam in Waterton Lake. Luckily it was a hot day with no wind
The kids tricked Grandpa into jumping in all the way
Then they visited Cameron Falls
These two are pretty (silly)
Ahem...
Please caption this photo for me
Heavy load
And for the best part...ice cream
Then it was time to play at the park
And a wiener roast
Complete with marshmallows
And s'mores
The next day was the kids' last day of swim lessons. They got to do fun things like the big diving board
Slides
And the climbing wall
They all did well
More snuggles with the cats
They can't man handle this dog like they did the cats
On their last day in Welling Kim and the kids went to Bob and Cheryl's cabin to play with second cousins and play in the water
Mason found a crayfish
Ready to swim and play
And don't forget dig
Is that Tarzan?
The kids had so much fun in the boat together
Mason looks excited
They all loved the tube rides, especially Lyza
Squeeze
The kids enjoyed getting to know their second cousins
Do you think he was enjoying himself?
Time for some sunset kayaking
They finished the day off with a beautiful sunset
When they got home Mason painted a turtle
We played at our beach together
Nixon and I went out to the river one morning before work and did some kayaking
There was a youth activity climbing a nearby mountain. I went and took Nixon with me. We made it to the top as the sun was setting. There was just enough smoke in the air to add some beautiful color to the sunset without obscuring the view too much.
The view was beautiful
This was our little group (there were actually only two young men from then leaders and a couple of siblings)
The views were beautiful
He is an awesome hiking companion
Here is a little video from the top of the mountain
Kim and the kids picked blueberries at a local farm
Kim's hand isn't particularly small, those blueberries are huge
Mason really wanted to do a lemonade stand so we made it happen
Mason made the signs and Nixon and I put them up
It was a really hot day but the kids pushed through and turned a respectable profit
Here is Henry working hard at a perler bead creation of his design
Lyza learned how to make scones with the freshly picked blueberries
Mason got to do some archeology with a birthday gift he hadn't used yet
I am not sure what this is but it looks like they had fun making a mess ;)
Our family went to the county fair and the highlight was the petting zoo
Nixon is scolding this lama because of his horribly crooked teeth
He had a face only a mother could love
Is that a Care Bear or an alpaca?
Lyza was in heaven
These horses were soooo tall
We got to go on a train ride
When the kids complain that something isn't fair I usually agree with them and tell them that the fair is a place we go to to look at pigs
This was our favorite chicken
Lyza was fascinated
The local blacksmith was cool to see
We got to celebrate Kim's 36th birthday. Gifts from Mason are wonderful.
Henry has learned from Mason and is also very generous with his gift giving
Pretty card
Kim had no idea what I got her
She chose a strawberry cheesecake and there was no complaining
Happy Birthday Kim! We love you!
