Henry has been working hard learning how to read
Two weekends ago we got to watch general conference together and eat green muffins for breakfast
It was a good general conference together
Mason got this new hat and I think he looks so good in it
We love it when Nixon reads to his little brothers
The kids got to have some Canadian Smarties
The piliated woodpecker was destroying our big pine tree in our front yard
Nixon and I tried to scare it away but it got too high for our nerf bullets
Last weekend we all went skiing together and had a wonderful time
Henry was able to ski confidently without his harness
Lyza made some AMAZING progress and really boosted her confidence increasing her speed
She and I got to have some quality time together
Nixon did his thing as usual
Including making funny faces
Everyone had a great time
Here are some skiing clips
After skiing we went to our friends' house for an Easter egg hunt
Lyza is the spotlight this month for young women
The kids got some stuff Easter morning
3/4 of the kids cooperated for a picture after church
Henry was the hold out
We had our neighbors over for dinner and visited with them for a long time after
We did our annual Easter egg lesson that evening
Kim and Henry found some pretty daffodils this week
Lyza teaching her brothers about some creepy-crawlies
On Monday we made resurrection rolls for FHE. I took a few pictures of the boys.
Lyza was a pro
Henry has read (or had read to him) 500 books since Kim started tracking them. The goal is to have 1000 done before kindergarten. True to his current stage, he did not want to pose for a picture.
For reasons we can't explain, one day this week Henry asked if he could go to Burger King (we never go there and never talk about it). He got his wish and enjoyed himself.
Henry and his friend playing Mouse Trap
Lyza and Nixon went on a walk along the river with Kim one evening this week
On Friday Kim and I took Nixon, Henry, and one of our kids' friends skiing. It was our last trip of the season since today (Sunday) is the last day the mountain is open.
Henry and I spent a lot of time together while everyone else skied some of the bigger runs.
He did so well
Nixon wore his new sunglasses
Kim and I never skied together so we at least got a picture together before the drive home
Here's some video from the trip
That evening the kids had some friends over for a movie party
Saturday morning Mason and Henry made a fort
Henry had his first soccer practice and soccer game on Saturday morning. He was pretty nervous but it didn't take too long for him to warm up to the idea
He got the first goal of the game right away and before I expected it. He got congratulated by his coach.
After that he turning into a scoring machine, scoring seven of his team's nine goals
He knew exactly what to do
And he had a big smile on his face
Perfect shot
Jumping for joy after this one
This one sums the whole experience up as he runs to me after scoring another goal
I got a few of them on video
Nixon had his first game of the season. He is on a bigger field and is in the youngest range of the U11 age group
He looked good right from the GetGo
He played the whole game and you could see fatigue from running up and down that big field
"Don't kick me"
The other team was really good but we hung in there
Nixon scored a goal on a penalty kick
Kim is picking out some new frames and needs your help. Leave a comment on your favorite two frames.
Take care
Glad that your family had a nice Easter. Looks like you had so much fun skiing. Way to go on all the soccer goals, Henry! Kim, all of the glasses look nice.
