A few Sundays ago we watched our stake conference meeting from home and Henry had fun with his own version of Candy Land
The kids set some goals that day and one of Henry's goals was to get ready for soccer. So the kids practiced soccer in the back yard
Lyza won two awards for academic achievement for the school year so far. One for her overall GPA and another for reading (language arts)
We couldn't stay for the whole awards ceremony so she got this second one the next day at school
Henry had his 100th day of school and they had fun celebrating
He got to help make this tower
And he also got to accidentally knock it over
He got some treats of course
We got to attend Lyza's spring concert and it was awesome
Nixon doing what he does best
Skiing two weekends ago was crazy. It snowed 7 inches that morning and the highway was really bad. Traffic was completely stopped 20 minutes from the mountain because there was so much uncleared snow on the road and vehicles were sliding off. Eventually a couple of plows got around everyone and cleared the rest of the way for us.
It was snowing hard that morning on the mountain
That didn't stop us
Eventually the snow stopped and the sun peeked through
The kids had their last day of ski lessons
While Lyza and Henry had their lesson the sun came out and it was beautiful
Here's Kim and Henry on a lift together
It was an exhausting day skiing through so much fresh powder. Nixon fell asleep on the drive home.
Henry got himself dressed for church the next day
Mason doing Mason things
I hung out in the tipi with Henry and Mason and listened to a couple of audio books with them
After one of Lyza's long showers she decided to leave some art on the mirror
We added another car to our pinewood derby collection. Mason has #29 and Nixon's #23 from last year raced again.
Unfortunately, Mason was too sick to go to the activity so Nixon raced his car for him
Nixon's car got third place
Mason's car almost advanced to the final round but got a style award
Here are a couple of pictures of Mason at challenge (where they go to another school one day a week for a more challenging curriculum)
And Nixon at challenge
Mason likes to curl up on the heat register in the morning
Henry was admiring his blanket this week and the patterns it has
On a warm day this week Kim took the boys to the park and the river to get some energy out
And playing a game together
Lyza got to go on a date with Kim this weekend to the library and then out for frozen yogurt
We went skiing together yesterday and it was beautiful!
It was ski school graduation so the kids got to hang out with friends
The kids got certificates and medals
Nixon and I tried out a couple of new black runs
The kids got a bbq lunch
I will choose to remember Mason being this happy all day
Lyza, Henry, and Kim
Henry had so much fun skiing and "jumping"
Our fingers are crossed for a few more good weeks of skiing
Take care
Neat to see all your skiing adventures, as well as the other fun happenings!
