End of Cross Country, Naughty Moose, and Finishing Soccer

We really enjoyed General Conference a few weeks ago. We even got a puzzle in while listening.

Nixon had his last cross country race of the season

He got his name on the board

This is a picture from a prior race a friend took

You know there is a problem when your kid's hot wheels tracks are too big and numerous to set up in the house

Henry colored this for a neighbor to help brighten their day

Henry had his last cross country race and Mason was there to cheer him on

Mason ran after that

A family that Lyza carpools with found a black widow spider at their house. They captured it and then gave it to Lyza. Exactly the type of thing you want someone giving your daughter?
She put it in the freezer and plans to pin it.

When everyone was getting really good views of the Northern lights this is the best I could get from our house

Mason adopted Trump's foreign policy and built a wall to bring peace to his shared use of the table with Henry. Make the Table Great Again!

We have been enjoying all of the autumn colors

This picture does a pretty good job summarizing soccer at Henry's age level: everyone is chasing the ball, someone is falling to the ground, someone has their eyes closed, and they are all still enjoying themselves

Henry fell and got a tiny scrape on his knee. It had some blood, which means Henry's world was ending. He decided the only thing to do was to pull his shorts up so they couldn't touch the owie and play the rest of the game like that...

If you zoom in you might be able to see his battle wound

We had family pictures last Saturday and I took a few photos while we were waiting for our photographer

Lyza doing what she loves most

Kim took a couple pictures for me

We can't wait to get our pictures and share them with you

Henry has decided that he wants to learn to play piano and he has some great teachers

It melted my heart when he wrote me this note during sacrament meeting last week

Kim and Nixon on a walk, enjoying the fall colors (or colours if you are Canadian)

Kim has been working more than I would like but she is getting the hang of things

A major event this week for us was waking up to a moose on our front yard, which has happened before

But this time the moose then went into our backyard, which has also happened before

What hasn't happened before is the moose eating our prized honey crisp apples. Something had to be done so I went into action to try and stop the moose

I threw everything I could at it (you can watch in the video below) but I was no match for it

The moose just kept eating apples

I enlisted our neighbor to help and he was able to scare the moose away from the apples but not out of the yard. You can see from this picture that the moose was just taunting us, sticking out her tongue

Then she decided to rest in our backyard to rub it in

Eventually our neighbor took out his trusty air rifle and like any good American, settled the dispute with a gun

We like the moose, but not when they eat our apples

These boys both got Cirkul water bottles (with built in flavor packs) to be like their big brother and they have been so happy with them

The sky at the end of Nixon's soccer practice on Thursday was amazing

Lyza had her first band concert of the year on Thursday night

She did great

Kim helped the boys make Halloween houses (like gingerbread houses)

Kim and I went to the temple on Friday night and then our for a quick dinner. When we came home Mason had these signs waiting for us in the doorway

Nixon had his last soccer game of the season on Saturday

He did really well

Here he is after scoring a goal

And after another goal

He got three goals in total (I caught two on video). He had a difficult season with a team that did not have a lot of experience but he worked really hard and we could definitely see improvement in his game

He got a bacon double cheese burger after

Henry also had his last game and was smiling the whole time

Except for when he had his serious competitive face on

I love when the trains go by this field

Henry's team was undefeated this season

He is proud of his medal

Mason got to get a fun drink at the corner coffee stand (I don't think he ordered coffee ;)

That's all for now. Have a great week!
