Painting, Soccer, Easter, Wedding, and a Really BIG Mall

I am going to take things a little out of order to begin with.

We recently decided to paint all of our rooms except for the bedrooms

Here is the "before" picture of our living room

Before picture of our family room

Kim was a rockstar painting

I leant a hand here and there

This was the most difficult spot to reach

Or maybe this was?

Here is the toy room all finished

Painting in the living room

And the living room all finished

Here are a couple before and after comparisons

We still have to paint the three bathrooms but we are taking a little break for now

Back to the rest of our life:

Mason has been very busy developing his art skills

Kim took the boys to Mobius and they had so much fun

Soccer has been going well for Nixon

Nixon got a goal with his head!

And then another goal

And Henry is also loving soccer

We watched General Conference together

Mason drew a third eye on Henry while he was sleeping

Kim and I both voted in Canada's election (some good that did)

Mason won a basketball at school because he did well in the class' NCAA final four bracket

I love finding Henry reading in the morning

Henry working hard at soccer practice

Nixon was in charge of a room at a STEM night for school

He made Elephant Toothpaste

Nixon's hair got a little too long so it was time for a hair cut

Much better

Kim took Nixon and Lyza to see Hamilton so they had some time to play downtown before

They got some Subway for dinner

Meanwhile Henry and I were feasting on white shells and stir fry

Excited for the show

They had so much fun!

It is really fun watching our boys work so hard playing soccer

Look at that long stride

Perfect form

Nixon had a really bad fall when he stepped on the ball and it took him out of the rest of the game

Nixon's team

This boy also loves playing soccer

Henry with his team

Mason and his team

For a Sunday afternoon we went to a soccer field and practiced shooting on the net

We also played at the park

We had cake waffles for dessert and they were a hit

The next week I got to take Lyza and Nixon to see Hamilton and we had some Red Robin before the show

While we were doing that Kim took the little boys and a friend to go see the Minecraft movie

We had fun at Red Robin

We also check out a book store before the show

Then it was time for the main event

It was a great show

For a young women's activity Lyza got to see a high school production of Pride and Prejudice

Kim took the boys to Triple Play and they had a blast. You are not hallucinating, that is Nixon driving a go kart

Mini golf

Zip line

3D ride

Playing at the water park

And bowling was a blast

Mason needed a rest

They had so much fun

Our ward had an Easter brunch and the kids did an indoor egg hunt since it was raining outside

That afternoon we attended an Easter exhibit at another church building where there were visual depictions of the various stages of the last week of Christ

Then to the library with out favorite popcorn trees

Making resurrection rolls

And the Easter Bunny came on Easter morning

These are perfect for Mason

Yummy monkey bread for breakfast

Lyza asked to get all dolled up for church

The primary sang beautifully

She is so beautiful

These huge balloons were very entertaining

We made a quick trip up to Edmonton for Sydney's wedding. We stopped at Sparwood to stretch our legs and for Nixon to practice his climbing

Slurpees!

Some poutine at Costco

The next day was Sydney and Aiden's wedding at the Edmonton Temple

Waiting for the bride and groom

What a beautiful couple

Lyza stealing the show

It was a warm day so we had to find some shade

What a lovely looking bunch

The reception was decorated so nicely

Burrito bowls were delicious

The shoe game...classic!

The dance afterward was really fun

The prettiest girl at the reception

They bride and groom were sent off with sparklers

A fun fort at Rosie's house

Playing some chess at Grandma and Grandpa Keyes'

Boxing lessons with Uncle Benjamin

Walking Rosie to school in the morning

We went to West Edmonton Mall to show the kids a HUGE mall

The Lego store was really fun

Lyza enjoyed Indigo books

An ice rink in a mall? So Canadian!

There were lots of candy stores

Then we went to the water park

Waiting for the trap door to open and start the near free fall was really scary

We both did it though (multiple times)

We also did this slide with the loop, which was REALLY fun!

Some chips and queso for sustenance

We had so much fun

Then we got to visit at Simon and Rachel's house

And the Wolsey family joined us

Lyza pretending to enjoy playing with Barbies ;)

Two of my sisters

Johannes is such a stud

It was a great trip...until we got a flat tire on the way home. Luckily we were only an hour away from home, our vehicle warned us, we had a spare tire, there was a safe place to pull over and change the tire, and we ultimately got an AMAZING deal on a replacement set of tires. There were definitely some blessing involved in this unexpected event.

And we made it home to our beautiful tulips

Have a great week!
