Fishing, Reptiles, Girls Camp, Mason's Birthday, Silverwood, Uncle David, Independence Day, and the Wolseys

Nixon helped Kim make Eat Mores

After that Kim took the kids on a hike to Mineral Ridge

Henry was happy to show off this Lego creation he made

Here are the boys at the beach with a couple of friends

Lyza left for girls camp a few weeks ago. Here she is setting up her tent.

That evening I took Nixon and Mason fishing for their primary activity.

Mason caught his first fish.

What a catch!

Nixon caught a big one right before Mason did so I didn't get to capture it because I was helping Mason

Then they got some worms and dirt for dessert

While we were fishing Henry was home picking raspberries

Lyza was really excited to find this dragon fly at camp

Kim took the boys to see the Reptile Man

The alligator may have peed on Mason...

A man gave Henry a silver dollar while standing in line at the store because he saw how behaved he was being while waiting

Here is Lyza with some of the girs

Lyza leading some songs

This is one of her favorite songs "Da Moose"

It's been a while since I captured a picture of the river with the drone

Mason was very involved in the creation of his birthday cake this year. Here he is zesting the lemon for his lemon flavored cake

I went out to girls camp for a day (and evening and the following day)

Henry and Mason have been getting swimming lessons at a friend's pool. This is Nixon waiting patiently poolside.

Henry learning to swim on his back (or maybe float on his back)

This is the lake Lyza was camped at for girls camp

Playing games with her friends

There were lots of bull frogs all around the lake so these guys were catching them with a fishing pole

That evening Kim took the boys out for dinner at Red Robin

They shared donuts for dessert

Some group pictures of the girls and leaders at camp

I got to see Lyza in action leading the songs'

These boys have been very into Lego

The day we got home from camp we took the boys to Triple Play to play games for Mason's birthday

This piano game was lots of fun

They had a good time together

The next morning was Mason's birthday and he requested acai bowls for breakfast

Me and my 9 year old at church on his birthday

After church he helped Kim assemble and decorate the cake

This is what the process looked like

In the afternoon we did presents

This is over 2,000 pieces!

This is an RC tank that you have to build

Mason was happy with his gifts

he built this arcade machine right away

Then it was time for the pinata Mason made

Then it was time for cake

Happy 9th Birthday, Mason

The cake was yummy

He got the tank built before bed

Lyza and Nixon spending some quality time together outside

We did a family (sans Lyza) Silverwood day together on Canada Day

We spent a long time together at the water park because it was so hot

When it was time for ride the boys started off with the Scrambler. It was Henry's first time and he enjoyed it.

Mason rode Corkscrew (double loop-d-loop) for the first time

Nixon and I rode Stunt Pilot a couple of times (very short lines probably because it was so hot)

Henry got the airplanes all to himself

We had a pizza dinner at the magic show

Henry told us that he wanted to ride Tremors. It is a huge, really fast, and really scary wooden roller coaster. He did it! He was afraid out of his mind but made it through!

This was more Mason's style

Nixon and I rode Panic Plunge (his first time)

Here's Henry on Corkscrew with Kim (Mason is in the seat ahead of them)

I also got to ride Corkscrew with him

Ice cream at the end of a hot day was a delight

Some videos of a few of the rides

The next morning we had breakfast with the Wolseys

David and Cassandra also joined us for breakfast

The kids were so happy to see their cousins

Nixon and Uncle Richard talked guitar

Then it was off to the beach for the day

There was some epic building on the beach

We had some burgers and dogs for dinner

And hung out in the backyard

That evening we went back to the beach to play with lighters

It was fun having David and Cassandra stay with us

Unfortunately Kim had to work on July 4th

We went back to the beach with David and Cassandra and the kids got to rough house with David

That evening we went to the 7th Annual Bunt/Foster party (maybe the last...)

Nixon won this yard Yatzee game

The Post Falls Police came to the party and threatened citations if we shot off the fireworks for the big show, so it was cancelled

So we went down to our beach and watched the amateurs

The next morning we had an unfortunate flood in our mud room bathroom and entrance so I had to pull up the flooring and dry out the subfloor

We all went to Texas Roadhouse for lunch

they even sang to Mason for his birthday

It was fun getting together with these two

After that we hiked Tubbs Hill with the Wolseys (David and Cassandra left after lunch)

We had a lot of fun with our visiting family

Take care and stay cool
