Mason's First Birthday Party, Learning to Drive, Early Father's Day, Swimming Lessons, and Young Men's Camp

Lyza helping make lasagna for dinner

We tried out a dragon fruit and it looked better than it tasted

The priests quorum had an activity with a local pilot/plane broker where he showed up his plane and told us about flying and buying and selling planes. It was really fun

Mason had a friend party for this 10th birthday. He had a Lego themed party with a custom made Lego cake

Friends playing outside

They played some Lego themed games

Some of those games included shooting with a Nerf gun

Hot dogs and mozzarella sticks for dinner

Then it was time for gifts

More time outside

Then it was time for cake

The cake was good

Then they watched the Lego Movie together

Mason loves this gun from one of his friends

Kim and I had a date night together at a local restaurant called the White House Grill which serves Mediterranean food and uses lots of garlic

I took Lyza on her first driving lesson and it went pretty well

I woke up the next morning (Sunday) and was surprised with an early Father's Day because we would be in Canada the next week for Jason's farewell.

Kim had prepared a delicious breakfast for me

Then I got some gifts

I got a custom card from Kim and the kids

Each of the kids filled out an "About My Dad" and they were so fun to read together

I got some cool dud shades

And a grill cleaner

And a got a new grill a few weeks earlier

Mason gave a talk that day in primary

I got to relax on the patio after church

I got a delicious steak dinner too!

Henry and I were caught doing a little reading together before bed

The boys had soccer camp that week

The kids loved going to Hobby Lobby and finding lots of cool decor items, like this Godzilla toilet paper holder

Lyza got some things to hang up in her room

The kids got free donuts from Krispy Kreme for their good grades

Nixon mowing someone's lawn as part of the service auction he participated in

Mason and Henry had some swimming lessons

And got to see a new born calf

Nixon and I got to go to a young mens camp together

Our Bishop has a black belt in some form of martial arts and Nixon enjoyed learning some bow moves

While we were at camp Kim had a girls night and going away party for one of their friends who is moving away

Nixon and I in our camp shirts

The main activity for our camp was a ropes course, which was very fun and even more difficult. I didn't get a lot of pictures because we were busy having fun. It was a really good experience for Nixon and definitely pushed him beyond his comfort zone, which is saying A LOT!

We really liked the zip lines

I am so proud of how brave he was

Our fireside on Friday evening

Nixon and I had to leave camp early so we could take our family trip to Canada. That will be up next on the blog.

Take care
