Summer and Father's Day

We have really been enjoying the nice weather so far this summer. We took Lyza down to the river to feed the ducks and she thought it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately she doesn't quite understand that there is a difference between playing by the water and playing in the water so we had to constantly hold her hand to keep her out.

A couple of days later Kim took Lyza to the beach to play in the water and she had a great time.

One night we flew a kite and went to the park.
Kim saw online that you can make play dough with flour and dish soap - it didn't work but Lyza liked to stir it around anyway.
One of Lyza's favorite activities is to play with a container of uncooked rice with different little toys and things hidden in it.

She also loves to stand at the sink and play with water.
For Father's Day weekend we were in Moscow while Kim was on-call. Overall she got called in quite a bit but never in the middle of the night and usually at very convenient times (i.e. when both Lyza and I were napping :)
On Saturday morning we went to the farmers' market, which is always enjoyable.

The girls spoiled me this weekend and we had a lot of fun together.

Lyza has become addicted to blueberries! This was one of the rare moments that she wasn't stuffing hands full of berries into her mouth.
I got some fun gifts but the one I love the most is this adorable card that Kim and Lyza made for me!
And one of the biggest surprises of the weekend is when Lyza sang I'm so glad when daddy comes home to me on Sunday morning. I had no idea she knew that song. She has an amazing mother!

Here is a video of Lyza and I playing. She is a lot of fun.

Kim and Lyza's secret photoshoot produced some really cute pictures. This is one of my favorites!
Take care!

I have been enjoying being at home with my little girl after working so much over the past few months. She is at such a fun age right now and we have a lot of fun together.
Playing in the tunnel we made.
Lyza helping Daddy build a little fence on our patio.

Playing with her new water table.
Last weekend Lyza was sick for a few days. After taking her temperature a few times she found the thermometer and was trying to do it herself.
Going for a walk. This nice trail is right behind our apartment building.
Went to the library last week. Grandpa Bullock would be happy with the first book that Lyza picked out to read :)
We have had a TERRIBLE oven in Moscow for the past 2 years. It is impossible to bake anything in it. I was very excited to bake something at our new place and have them turn out how they were suppose to! I love baking.
Excited to wear her new "hat"
First time out with Lyza's new bike seat. We went for a ride to a park and then down to the beach. You can't tell from the picture but Lyza thought it was pretty great.
Checking out the big moose. There are several of these mooses throughout Coeur d'Alene

Reading books with Daddy at the library.
Playing with her new finger puppets.

Moving and Seattle Trip!

Here we are all packed and ready for our SIXTH move in 5 years! We will be pros by the time Daniel is done school.
Lyza really missed her mattress when we moved. When I pulled it out of the box she couldn't wait to give it a hug!
Truck is unloaded.....now onto unpacking boxes!
Enough unpacking....lets go to Seattle! It was a beautiful day....

 There it is!
 Our condo.

Our first vacation since Daniel started law school.
 Yup.....we loved our King.
View from the top balcony of the condo.
Trying out the local fish and chips.
This is how we eat when we are on vacation.
 Great dinner.
Famous Pike Place fish market. There is a video of this market at the end showing the workers throw fish back and forth.
Lots of amazing fruit and flower stands.

 Gum wall
The gum wall was so disgusting but we had to get a picture.
 Seattle Aquarium
The seahorses were one of our favorites.

Checking out the otters. Right after we took this picture one ran right in front of Lyza.
 Jellyfish tank
 Walking along the bay.
 Boarding for our boat tour.

 EMP museum
The costumes worn in "Princess Bride"
Entering the Sci Fi section at EMP Museum.

 This is for Hannah!
Next stop was the Space and Science Center.
 Butterfly gardens....

Lyza talking to the giant praying mantis.
Playing with the water guns outside of the Science Center.
View from the top of the Space Needle. You can see a cruise ship departing.

After doing all of that we still had just a bit of energy left to visit the ZOO! We only made it through about half of the zoo before we were all tuckered out but we all had a great time. Lyza especially loved seeing all of the animals.
Lyza thought the blue frogs were pretty strange.

She liked that she could play with this elephant.

The flowers at the zoo were beautiful.
We got home late Saturday night and here is Lyza Sunday morning in her cute sailor dress from Grandma  & Grandpa Keyes.

Taking a little break outside of the Space Needle.

After we were done at the zoo we got in the car to drive home only to get stuck in a traffic jam in Seattle for 2 hours! It was a long drive home after that. Lucky for us we have a wonderful daughter who was SO good through the whole trip. It was a busy and fast trip to Seattle but I am glad we went. We enjoyed being able to spend some time together as a family and were able to do a lot of fun things.
