She's heating up... (NBA Jam reference)

Nixon is helping make deviled eggs. That is one of his favorite foods
How can a ring pop be so messy?
This is the face of a two-year-old who cannot figure out how to make his fingers as long as the Spider Man gloves his is wearing
We carried on our family tradition of making resurrection rolls for family home evening

This is a multi-purpose video: it shows Henry falling flat on his face, Lyza reading a silly book, and Henry's utilitarian crawl
I am surprised how much our kids like spinning
They always have to throw rocks into the water
 Sleeping babies are the best
Mason is getting really good at his balance bike
Lyza and one of her masterpieces
Iron Man stopped by to mow our lawn
Then sat down to lunch with Nixon
After school Lyza and Nixon sat outside together and just talked in the nice weather
One of these babies is too big for the crib
 Leaning about plants for preschool
Lyza wore this while playing with her friend
The kids have been reunited with the sandbox
 What is on his chin?
Apparently Mason really likes creamed corn
He likes it so much he gets mad when his shepherd's pie gets too close
 Little horse man
It is usually pretty easy to tell is Mason has poop in his diaper these days
I love watching these two do piano lessons
Nixon having fun with his light brite
Mason's coloring has gotten pretty serious lately

Strawberries are back in season!
Lyza had her team pictures yesterday
Both kids had lots of rain for their games so we didn't bother taking any pictures. They both did really well. Lyza is getting the hang of defense and got her feet on the ball a couple of times. Nixon scored three goals in two games (two in the first and one in the second)
These two squirrels playing together remind me of the Sword in the Stone Disney cartoon

Except those squirrels didn't go around eating the buds on our apple tree
Some friends wanted to get rid of their basketball hoop so we told them we would take it. It is fun watching the kids try and figure it out.
They are both doing fairly well but Lyza just might be a natural
She looks like she was born to play
Henry and I did some playing on the floor yesterday and he was too cute not to take some pictures of. He loves to stick out his tongue

This video shows his silly method of crawling. It works though
It got him to the screen of happiness
Sometimes Mason will play independently and totally amaze us
He must have had trains on his mind yesterday
Lyza got lots of new books from the library yesterday and got right to reading them
When the rain finally stopped we got a rainbow
Then the birds came out looking for food
I think he got a worm, unless that is his tongue?
The kids had lots of fun making Easter eggs last night
He had to show of his eggs and some of his drawings
We have had a wonderful Easter so far today and hope you have too. We will share next week. Take care

Running in the Rain

Now that Henry is able to sit up well on his own bath time is a lot more fun
Last weekend was general conference so there was a lot of time in front of the screen. Mason helped keep things interesting for us
For each apostle and member of the First Presidency Kim prepared a bag with some information about that person and an activity and/or treat
 Mason helped with some singing
Henry woke up Sunday morning with his first tooth!
Kim made some yummy monkey bread for breakfast

We had monkey bread, a smoothie, eggs, and sausages. It was a feast. Almost every day since Mason has asked for "monkey waffles"
 Watching together
 Same
One of the apostles was the 100th latter-day apostle so the kids got a 100 piece puzzle
 Mason loves wearing this hat
Sunday afternoon Kim took the kids on a walk in the rain (because they needed to get out of the house)
The kids were very serious about saving earth worms
And there was lots of splashing

 This is an awesome picture
 Nice worm Mason
One of the facts about Elder Bednar is that he likes to clean. So the kids got new dusters and got right to work
There have been lots of birds digging around in the backyard in this wet spring weather
I caught this one collecting materials for a nest
After conference we went out and flew the kite and kicked the soccer ball around

 This guy was really patient
 His first tooth

It was fun seeing the mountains clearly without being blocked by huge pine trees
We had this colorful sun set that night
Lyza and I played on the same team against Kim for Settlers of Catan. She had so much fun!
The next day Nixon helped his mom make one of my favorite desserts (mango float)
 I am Iron Man
Henry is a jumping machine
The kids all went to the dentist and had great looking teeth

Mason thinks he likes eating limes

He has been so helpful recently, even cleaning the table after dinner ;)
We had a double rainbow this week (the top one is very faint)
Nixon got a new 100 piece puzzle and couldn't wait to get working on it
 He did an awesome job
Placing pom-poms in a container can sometimes keep him entertained for a while
 We have a sandal thief
 Mason eating with his transformers
Does that remind you of someone?
Lyza had class photos. It is certainly an interesting photo
We had more soccer games yesterday. Both kids got rained on pretty bad and it was windy and cold. I managed to get a few pictures though
I love watching Lyza play because she has so much fun
 Nixon was pretty cold
Lyza waiting for the game to start
 Ready to go
She does a good job getting into the pack near the ball
At this age level there is a lot of swarming on the ball. Look at that smile!
 Go get it Lyza
While we were out in the windy cold rain Mason was practicing his building skills

And stuffing plastic eggs in his shirt
Nixon had the most fun practicing before his game because it wasn't raining too bad and he was excited to see his team mates
He is wearing three jackets and two shirts
They had so much fun trying to tag their coach for warm up
They did his team pictures, which luckily were indoors

There is a rule around here that if you draw on a door or a wall with marker you have to clean it up yourself (it is depressing that we have a rule for that)
This is probably the first picture where Mason's coloring is mostly in the lines and more than scribbles. He has been so proud of this
When Kim gets a spring cleaning bug we all get to work (but only one of us has to clean the dusty top of the wall...)
I took a portrait of my handsome 5 year old
As I put the picture on the computer Lyza and Nixon asked that I do something funny with it. This is the result
This morning the sun was shining (we haven't seen that recently) and the kids were right in the sunlight reading together
The big boy church shoes all ready to go. Soon there will be another pair in the row
Henry looked so cute today for church I just had to take a couple pictures

I also got a few of Lyza
It is so hard to get her to smile ;)
She is beautiful just like her mama
Have a great week and take care
