Keyes Family Vacation 2018 - Edmonton

When we got to Edmonton the kids quickly put Uncle Peter's reading skills to the test. He passed with flying colors (colours)!
The kids found some furry friends at Ikea
What is a trip to Edmonton without an Ikea breakfast?
Grandma Keyes and Nixon
We forgot we had swim suits in the car so Lyza started out at the splash pad in her regular clothes

David and Abby and their kids met us at the park and Paul also came to visit
Mason having fun with the water
Lyza and Lewis
Lewis and Mason
Me and my almost two year old
Lyza and Grandpa Keyes having some deep conversation
Keyes kids are the strongest
That evening Simon and Rachel joined us for a meal at Peter and Jane's house
The next day Mason was a whole year older
I think he knew the day was all about him

We went to a fun indoor play place and all of the kids, big and small, had a great time

I certainly couldn't move through these obstacles as fast as the kids
This play place was huge and lots of fun

Mason was sooooo happy

Mason loved this spiny thing

There were a bunch of trampolines all next to each other

Thing 1 and Thing 2 matched and I don't think they even planned it

Nixon thought this glider thing was the best
Lyza's question at the end of the video really sums up our time at the play place
Mason and Grandma Keyes ended up in this baby area
But Mason was not playing like a baby. He wanted to stack everything and make it collapse
Especially when he or someone else was inside

We got to see Uncle Ben that evening
Mason got to open a couple gifts
Then we got to go play at the beach
Chase some sea gulls
Play in the water with Aunt Jane
I went on a paddle boat ride with Peter and Nixon. I forgot how much effort paddle boats require for so little return
We got to sing to this boy and have some yummy cake. We couldn't get the candles lit because of the wind

Mason loved his cake and devoured two pieces, one per year.
Our group sans the beautiful photographer
We played at the park after

That evening Kim and I saw Paul and Jordan. It had been several years and we had a good time catching up. I don't think I will ever catch up in height though
The next day we spent with Wes and Joanne and the girls. Mason and Abigail are fishing together
I helped Wes set up a trampoline
All finished
The kids had lots of fun playing together
All the cousins together
What is that face Aubrey?
More reading time with Aunt Jane that night. She also passed the reading test with flying colors
Grandma and Grandpa Keyes with their three favorite grandchildren (I can say that because it is my blog ;)
And here is what the other 30 photos all looked like
Lovely Hannah!
We had lots of fun in Edmonton. We were sad we couldn't meet up with Sarah and Richard and their family.
Thanks to Peter and Jane for being such wonderful hosts.
