Birds and Bees and... Frogs

Henry is working really hard at his reading skills. Let's face it, he's 8 months old and if he doesn't start reading soon he is going to be left behind ;)

A couple quick portraits of Nixon and Lyza since I had the camera set up for something

Sometimes Lyza needs help matching her shirts and her pants
Lyza and Nixon have a new favorite game on the trampoline called "launch the kids." The name says it all. See how much fun Lyza is having?
The enjoyment has turned to horror
Nixon looks like he is going to explode

Here is what it looks like (please excuse the background noise, our neighbor likes to mow on Sundays)
The kids gave mom a taste of her own medicine
Kim has been a spring cleaning machine over the last month(s). Henry has always been by her side ready to help
We watched this robin try and get this huge worm in its mouth for a couple of minutes
We had family home evening outside this week. We planned our summer bucket list

Those top teeth are so cute

I love this silly face. It just screams personality

Mason was in charge of dessert
What a silly bunch
As long as it keeps him busy and "out of trouble"
Mason moves the costume box to reach Nixon's gum and mints. That is exactly the kind of trouble we are trying to keep him out of.
That is a big puzzle for a 5-year-old
 Snuggles with Henry

 He is handsome
 Swinging during Nixon's soccer practice
Looks like Mason gets his organizational ability from his mom
Kim and the kids had a long afternoon outside in the backyard on Friday
Henry got to play with grass
Nixon found this carrot from last year while they were tilling the garden boxes
 Mason was working hard
 Freezies to cool off
There is no shortage of people ready to squeeze Henry
When Lyza got home from school her friend came over to play
The apple trees are in full bloom and looking fantastic
The bees are busy pollinating the trees
The ladybugs are also doing what they do (whatever that is)
Here is Mason playing with a stick and a worm. He is such a boy!
 The strawberries have blossoms
Our tree in the front (we aren't sure what type it is) has the most beautiful blossoms
And LOTS of bees! Check out the pollen on its leg. What a "pollen jock" (The Bee Movie)
I caught this robin scavenging on our roof
Here is the moon at about 6 pm
 The bee's wing looks cool

Friday night Kim went to the dollar store and bought a new humming bird feeder. I hung it up Saturday morning and decided to set up the tripod and take a video while I ate breakfast just in case a humming bird stopped by. In less than two minutes we had a visitor
They are so fast! I stopped the video to get some picture and I think they turned out pretty good
 I caught the bird mid-poop!
Lyza and Nixon doing some serious morning reading
Nixon had his last soccer games of the season (Lyza also had a game but they overlapped so I couldn't be there)
It was so hot! (29 degrees and no wind)
It was hard playing in that heat
Some of the best running he did was off the field for a break ;)
Nixon did score a goal in his last game and the celebration after is priceless
We went out for some celebratory ice cream

Lyza got a frozen chocolate drink after her game
Nixon helped mamma get the garden planted (at least partially)
We all went to the beach in the afternoon and had a great time

Henry didn't like having his feet dipped in the cold water

 He loved being upside down
He got to examine the sand
Mason also learned a new trick
 And hang out with mama
Mason found a frog/toad on the beach
 The kids loved holding it
Kim found a second one and we had to take them home
The kids had to check on them every minute or so on the walk home

 They are cute

Lyza will introduce you to the newest members of the family ;)
Take care and hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!
