Is He Seriously 8 Months Old?

Before church last week I was able to sneak a few pictures of the boys

It is crazy seeing Mason and Henry in those shirts because Nixon and Mason were wearing the same shirts almost 2 years ago
A few more pictures of the lovely song birds

Mason was having trouble on the slide and telling us he was getting hurt. We told him to try again and that we would watch to see what was happening
On Sunday afternoon Kim took the three big kids for a walk while Henry was napping. They happened to see a fire truck and firemen checking all of the hydrants in the neighborhood
They followed the truck around for a while and watched them check the hydrants
They had fun watching the firemen
Pretty tulips
Look at that big gummy smile!
Sunday afternoon we invited ourselves over to a family's house that is raising chicks so the kids could see them
They each got to hold the little chicks

Video of Lyza with a chick
We are not sure how this has happened but Henry has turned 8 months old! He of course got a little photo shoot. Enjoy!

Not only is Henry 8 months, he also decided to get really vocal once he turned 8 months (up until this point he was very quiet)
Nixon made breakfast for mom on Monday morning ;)
For FHE on Monday night we learned about fire safety and practiced our exit plan (if there is a fire, slither away like a snake ;)
Kim pulled out a binder of old CDs which led to an impromptu dance party after bed time
Remember when Will Smith was a musician?
There is something so satisfying seeing one of the kids cleaning.
Lyza's end of school countdown has started
Mason is definitely the pillow fort builder of the family
Our pretty flowers

Kim thought these were regular tulips when she planted them. We aren't sure what they are. They are pretty but too heavy to stand straight up.
Wednesday morning Nixon and I got up before 6 to get in line for kindergarten registration. We waited in line (outside) for an hour so we could choose the session that we wanted (two full days and a half day per week, rather than five half days each week). After all of that, they changed how kindergarten will happen this year. Nixon will actually got to Ponderosa Elementary (where Lyza goes and closer to our house) but will have to do half days five days a week. That would have been nice to know before hand :(
This guy loves to get up on his hands and knees

I took Mason to Nixon's soccer practice and thought I might be able to get some cute pictures of him playing at the park. He was not impressed

Cute Nixon

After Nixon thought it was so fun to roll down the hill
The sun and clouds were doing some really cool stuff
Remember how fun it was to connect the markers together?
More of the pretty flowers with a Spider Man in the background

Lyza's school had a first grade concert on Thursday night. It was so fun watching her sing and dance.
Henry also had fun
Lyza getting a little piano lesson (that teacher of hers sure looks casual)
Not only does Henry like getting up on his hands and knees, he likes to plank
Lyza's peacock inspired hair before school
Friday evening I tool the kids down to the park and on the way there we saw a bald eagle patrolling (too bad I didn't have the big lens with me)
The spring blossoms are so enchanting (can I use the word "enchanting"?)
Mason had so much fun playing with this dog at the park tonight. I didn't video the best parts because I felt weird taking video of these people. He had a blast though
Although he couldn't figure out how to use this throwing apparatus (in his defense, it was difficult to use)
Friday night Kim took Henry to girls night and he loved it
I caught a squirrel jumping from tree to tree
 Running along our swing set
The kids were fascinated with the squirrel running along the fence
We took advantage of the direct morning sun and practiced making shadow puppets
I took Lyza and Nixon to clean the church yesterday morning and they worked so hard. For a treat after I let them each pick out a donut

Our flowers are looking so pretty I had to get some pictures of them

We had overlapping soccer games yesterday so Kim went with Lyza and I went with Nixon. Lyza had a great time from what I heard.
I had the camera so...
Mason was really well behaved ;)
Nixon worked really hard for his first game. This play you can see how dedicated he was to stay with the ball and just missed getting a goal by a little bit
This play was really impressive because you can see how he changed direction to avoid running into the girl that wasn't paying attention ;)
That good ball work turned into a GOAL!
Soccer in nice weather was a lot better than in the rain, hail, wind, etc. It also made for way better pictures

When this balloon flew overhead everyone on the field stopped in amazement
This flag in the distance was also a cool site
We took advantage of the nice weather and tried to get some pictures of Lyza and Nixon in their soccer gear. It was bad timing with the sun though so we found the only nearby spot with shade. Nixon was also exhausted having just finished two soccer games. So this is what we got.

Before we left the kids asked if they could roll down the hill. I wish I would have told them no.
In the afternoon when the flowers were in full shade I took a few more pictures

The start of these blossoms on both apple trees makes us so happy

Henry did a little shopping last night and sat in the cart like a big boy
Congratulations if you made it this far.
Take care
