We had a fairly relaxing morning in Seattle and took our time to pack up and head out to Vancouver Island. Google maps told us we were only two hours away so we left at 11:00 planning on making the 2:00 pm ferry.
Well, we never imagined a border crossing that would take two (2) hours to get through! 😖
After we finally got through the border it was a short drive to the ferry terminal, a 30ish minute wait, and then we got to board the ferry
We got to ride the ferry with Grandma and Grandpa (who were about 17 cars ahead of us at the border) and we were excited to see them
I think Mason is trying to look like a seal?
The first ferry ride for the Daniel-Kim Keyes family
Mason had a lot of energy to get out
I felt so Canadian!
There were a couple of play areas for the kids
Henry got lots of kisses
They had the vehicles packed in there like sardines
After a stop at Costco for some dinner and a total drive of about an hour, we arrived at the cain
This view of the cabin was pretty spectacular
We did a little bit of exploring that night
We woke up that morning and saw deer in the backyard
The little deer with the spots were so cute
Sunday we all went to church in Duncan. After that we spent the afternoon inside because it was raining (of course it was raining on the day we planned on doing family pictures)
I didn't realize Kim was spying on us from the loft...
Henry enjoyed exploring his new surroundings
And being with his Grandma
Aubrey was also really entertaining for him
Kim and Nixon did a big Avengers puzzle together
The rain eventually stopped and the deer came out so we decided to try and get our family pictures
It was still really misty out so it gave our pictures a unique look
Grandma and Grandpa and all of their grand-children
We got some of our family too
Mason had the "best" expressions
We did some of all the families
Me and my beautiful wife
So cute!
All of the "adults"
Aubrey was sooooo good with Henry
Mary wasn't having the cousin pictures
Henry is SOOOOOO cute!
My cute kids
Good pose Nixon ;)
That evening we did a little walk around the property
There were some big slugs
Walling around the property felt like walking in a rain forest. It was so pretty.
Speaking of which...
Grandma and Grandpa did a family home evening lesson about the Bullock and Woodruff family trees
Each of the kids got to help out by placing pictures on the family tree
I did a really good job :)
Net up: Kinsol Trestle bridge, Bamberton Provincial Park, and lots more fun!
Thanks for posting such awesome fun pictures, but do I have to wait another week for the rest.sighhhh.
